It's a good knife.
I collect knives and I do love buying from U.S. knife companies, but a good knife is a good knife in my eyes. WE Knives is indeed a Chinese company, but their knives are world class. This particular knife is great. Totally ambidextrous and has a bar lock, similar in action to a Demko Shark Lock, or the Cold Steel Atlas lock, but different in design. It seems to be a sturdy design, strong spring preload with very smooth action, decent room to wear in as well. The lock bar can swing out when fully depressed. They say it's a feature to easily clean the area where the spring is captured. I think that's a half truth, but I haven't had any issues while using it. I haven't had the bar swing open unless I am specifically trying to do so, but your milage may vary...This knife rides on bearings, so not a good choice for working in a metal shop or taking to the sand box. It is very smooth and snicky, figetable if you like that. The thumb hole is very close to the scale when closed, even obscured slightly. You can still reverse flick it open, and depressing the lock will allow deployment, similar to a benchmade axis or the locks mentioned above.Blade is thin behind the edge, so it's super slicy, but I wouldn't pry with it. Multiple bevel angles though, so spine thickness is carried almost to the tip. 20CV blade, probably ran a little soft because it's production made, but I haven't had any testing done. It does hold a nice edge for a good while like 20CV should, I'll try to update when I am on my 4th or 5th edge, but it's promising so far.The pocket clip is not bad at all. I thought it would suck because of its location on the center of the spine. I thought it would lead to a nasty hot spot, or be annoying to get in and out of pocket. It's not bad at all though. A proper side clip is easier to clip in the heat of the moment, this knife takes a little getting used to, but clips well. Very deep carry.I'm a rightie, so the ambidextrous features aren't a large selling point, but I love this knife anyway. Locks up totally solid and is a pleasure to use. I would recommend this knife, bought a second one to add to my collection for posterity.
