this is a strange book
This unique work of literature - short pieces that seem out of the school of Salvador Dali - surreal, unsettled and disturbing. Yet fascinating.

Raw, other-worldly, and thought-provoking
Barbara Molinard was a French writer who lived from 1921 to 1986. She wrote countless poems, short stories, novels, all tortured and raw and as eye-opening as a fever dream can sometimes be; all of which she destroyed before they saw light. All except a series of short stories titled Viens(Come), published in 1969. These were the only writings that her husband and friend could convince her to publish in her lifetime. The rest are gone forever. For those like myself that have a difficult time reading in French, this year the writings were finally translated for English readers. I don't recommend this book for everyone. But if you want to be inside the mind of a brilliant writer who battled daily against an "Enemy" that altered her very perception of what we know to be reality, I highly suggest this thought-provoking book of stories. While you won't seem to be able to put the book down, you will as equally find it hard to plunge from one experience to the other without taking a moment or two of pause. Enjoy.
