Seventh Generation Disinfecting Spray Cleaner Lavender Vanilla & Thyme Disinfectant 13.9 oz, Pack of 8

I am sensitive to smells. Lavender lysol gives me migraines. I think people were expecting it to smell like lavender, and vanilla. It doesn't. It smells like dried thyme, because the active ingredient is thymol. When I spray it it doesn't linger. It smells like I'm cooking. I can't help but imagine the people who dislike the smell have never been in nature, have never cooked, and worship chemical fragrances. Maybe I'm just granola because I can't walk into a candle shop without feeling physically ill but, I like it. I don't think you should take the reviews that say it smells bad into consideration. They seem a bit dramatic from my experience. Good for cold and flu (and covid) season. The only caveat is that it kills germs in 10 minutes as opposed to Lysol's 15 seconds. TLDR smells like natural thyme, doesn't linger,not overpowering, takes 10 minutes to work, good price.

I’m so happy to have this spray. It came quickly and it helps fight against coronavirus. There were many negative comments about the smell but the smell doesn’t bother me. It smells like thyme but it is not heavily fragrant, the smell is light and fresh. I’ll definitely buy it again! I’m so happy to have 8 bottles since aerosol disinfectants are impossible to find. This supply will last for at least a year or more.

We switched over from using Lysol spray to this a few years ago. What I Like: 1. Unlike Lysol, the scent is not toxic and doesn't burn my lungs if a lot is sprayed. 2. Unlike Lysol, doesn't cause skin irritation if sprayed inside of shoes. 3. Unlike other aerosols, this doesn't use flammable propellants. It uses compressed air instead so we are not breathing in butane whenever we spray this. 4. Unlike Lysol, I don't have to wait an extended period of time before I can lay on a surface (couch, bed, etc.) that has been sprayed with this stuff. 5. Like Lysol, Thymol kills both bacteria and viruses. It was our go to spray when Covid was in the house. Our Usage of Thymol: Insides of shoes, couches, beds, pillows, car seats, food prep surfaces and the list goes on and on. To Consider: Don't be fooled by the added scents - lavender, vanilla, citrus, etc. - you won't smell them. The thyme scent dominates - ALWAYS. Open your pantry and if you have the thyme herb available, smell that and if you don't like that smell then don't buy this - EVER. The scent goes away over time just like the Lysol scent. The more you spray, the longer the scent will last. We are very pleased with the value of this purchase and the health benefits from both contaminate neutralization and reduction of chemical usage.

7th Generation is great earth-friendly products I’ve used for years. Pricey and does what it says. First time using this spray I bought the eucalyptus blue can. Wonderful mint smell fills the air without overpowering. I enjoy instant aromatherapy while sanitizing my kitchen surfaces plus extras like door knobs, cabinet handles, and backsplash. Afterwards I purchased the purple can because it’s priced cheaper. Don’t buy the purple can for great aroma. It’s not a bad smell like rotten eggs. I describe it as a neutral blending of your nose with herbs: thyme, spearmint, lavender, geranium, patchouli, vanilla, and coriander. I smell something I just can’t describe it. Some folks call it thyme. Anyway the smell is light and it goes away quickly. The nozzle is hard to press down because of the compressed air. But once it starts, it flows without shaking the can or drowning surfaces. It has a very good child and dog proof locking ring that prevents it from spraying even while chewed. It actually empties the whole can. No discoloration. Recyclable. Not refillable. I use this on towels and clothes waiting for laundry day. Smelly shoes, socks, backpacks, and everything kids. Dog stuff too. I have a can in my gym bag for workouts. Office and car. When I suspect a cough or sneeze might be the start of sickness, I spray everything everyday at work and at home especially microwave, refrigerator, and bathrooms. All handles and kids stuff. Quick wipe cleaning of the dog. So far, symptoms end after a couple of days or so. It’s not science but my proof this disinfectant works.

To be honest it is kind of a strange smell. However it does get rid of whatever stale smell, cat box odors etc you are trying to remove. I can’t breathe the chemical stuff they sell at the store. It gives me an asthma attack. This stuff doesn’t affect my breathing at all. This is why I love it so much!

This company IS cruelty free (does NOT test on animals). I was looking for a replacement for Lysol disinfecting spray. I decided to try this brand since I have used their laundry detergent and dryer sheets (love both). I use this on my pillows between washing, mattress pad, mattress itself, pet areas, everywhere! The smell is great and it work like the bigger brands I have used in the past. I got 8 cans for $20.00 on Amazon. I did not need that many, but it was a better deal. So now, I'm spray happy knowing I have a good cruelty free product! Yay!

I love scents, so when I read "Lavender Vanilla & Thyme", I ordered it immediately! In my mind, I could disinfect my classroom while inhaling the calming scent. But, NOPE! As soon as I sprayed it...all I could think of was Listerine. Now, every day after school when I clean, my classroom smells like every student just finished brushing their teeth. The good thing about this product is the ease and control of the spray. Very nice and doesn't leave heavy residue on surfaces.

Great substitute and worth the purchase. Still use it and smell may take some getting used to. However, spray in the car and leave alone while parked over night or for many hours.
