It does seem to mostly eliminate odors, but it's also not even scentless itself, it's not quite the bleach smell that others say (I think I'd like that more), it is some sort of cleaner smell, but luckily that smell fades quickly and isn't too strong. Depending on where you spray, you might need to wipe it off of certain surfaces, I sprayed it in an area with a mirror and not even directly at the mirror or anything, but it spotted the mirror pretty badly, nothing you couldn't wipe away, but I was surprised by how dirty the mirror got. I bought this because we recently took in 4 more cats after having only 1 for years, so with 5 cats our litter box situation has increased quite a bit and even with daily scooping it is still pretty stinky having multiple litter boxes in the house.
