Awesome!
It's HUGE! I tested - you can fit a 6 pack stacked on top of another 6 pack in this thing and still have room to roll the top down! I haven't even figured out how much food you can fit...The top rolls down just fine - it doesn't roll super tight, but it should as it wears in. Anyone that's worn a new Carhartt should understand that heavy canvas like this needs to break in a little bit to be soft and pliable. It does have a waxy kind of smell to it, but it just smells like wax - not good, but definitely not bad. I imagine the smell should go away after a little while, but it's really not a big deal (unless you're allergic to beeswax). It doesn't bother me, just something I thought I would note. The build seems to be pretty high quality - they used some thicker thread for the hems and seams and it appears to be done well. They do have a lifetime warranty according to the tag, so I suppose if something ever DOES happen, it should be taken care of, but I don't expect to need to use the warranty.I'm not sure how to go about cleaning this, though. You'll want to avoid hot water, as that will melt and remove the wax, so I think maybe just a cool, damp towel to wipe off anything that spills on it? I would just try to avoid spilling anything or dropping it in the mud and you should be good.10/10 recommend - it's pretty unique and I think it will last for years.Edit: I've had this for 3 months now and it's still awesome! The waxy smell dissipated within a week or so. It fits a ton of food or a 12 pack of beer. The top does eventually break in a little bit for easier rolling and stays shut fairly well. This bag is absolutely fantastic!

Nostalgia Lunchbox!
Needed a flexible lunchbag to fit into my stuffed pack and this was great for it! Its much bigger, thicker, and stiffer canvas than I was expecting so I know itll last for a very long time!Reminds me of school lunches as a kid!Only difference is I can fill it with food I like!

well made, worth the money, better than crappy lunch boxes available from retailers
This thing is a nice bag. I weirdly imagine it as what an early 1900's steel worker would use for his lunch, had it been available and had he not posessed a lunch pail. Its tough, its well constructed, it feels substantial, and it ACTUALLY KEEPS STUFF COLD.I wasn't concerned about this bag's construction when making the purchase, but I feared it may not be up to par with typical foam insulated lunch boxes available at target or anywhere else. HOWEVER, I couldn't have been more wrong. The sturdy waxed canvas provides excellent insulation, and good moisture resistance too.All in all this was a great purchase I anticipate I will have for years to come.Truly a good product, made to last. I didn't think they made stuff like this anymore.

Great lunch bag.
Item is new @ 1 week so this is first impressions. Design and build: clean, minimal look. No features, extra pockets etc. it is literally a canvas version of a classic brown paper bag. Build: sturdy gauge canvas, tight stitching. Good application of wax. When you roll the top down and crimp it it stays closed. Leaking: I use a plastic bag as a liner to avoid getting the canvas wet. Not sure what the thermal properties of waxed canvas are but this bag is otherwise not lined in any way for thermal insulation. I’m going to get or make a Marvel Seal bag to insert as a liner/ seal. Cleaning: waxed canvas isn’t really cleanable. Soaps and hot water compromise the wax. You’re advised to brush clean which doesn’t really clean the way people mean when they say “clean.” If, say, an avocado or your pasta sauce got all mashed into the bag you could wipe and brush the bulk of it away but there'd likely be a stain. If this prospect bothers you this bag is probably not the product for you. I have numerous waxed canvas things and rarely clean any of them. It is also possible to strip the wax, fully clean canvas and rewax. Not a hard process but takes some time.

Simple, Tough, Perfect
The Colony Co bag here is great for what it is. It's a simple waxed canvas bag with zero frills, bells, or whistles. It's waxed canvas, sewn in the shape of a bag, with a small Colony Co tag on the side, and another one sewn inside the mouth. Nothing else here. The waxed canvas is thick and sturdy. The waxing makes it hold its shape well even when it's empty. This is not a floppy bag. There's no fastener but it will stay (mostly) rolled on its own. The stitching is uniform and even with no defects. There's nothing to break, so this will last until either the stitching wears out or the canvas develops a hole (unlikely) or you spill something and don't clean it before the stain can seep in past the wax treatment and can't live with the stain. This is a great bag if you just want something to stick food in, you don't need insulation, and you want it to last for approximately ever. I don't see this bag ever having an issue for at least the next ten years or so. It's just a real nice bag.

VERY sturdy!
I like this lunch bag. My only problem with it is how tough it is. It is very hard to roll up like a lunch bag. I'll keep it and see if it loosens up some.

Great for foraging!
I bought this bag to use when foraging - the size is perfect and fits into my Osprey Daylite Plus backpack. I love that it's hand waxed with beeswax - it keeps liquids (such as fruit juice) from leaking. The sturdy construction of the bag also kept the paw paw fruit from getting smashed in my backpack.
