iPhone 8 Plus Case | Pelican Voyager Case - fits iPhone 6s/7/8 Plus (Clear/Grey)

Full disclosure. I'm not a fan of chunky cases. I believe the iPhone is rather slim and beautiful, and should have a similar case. However, I got this for my partner, who particularly wanted this and he is thrilled. It took a little bit of kneading, and massaging to get the case to click together all around the phone, but once that's done, it's a nice fit. It does make the phone feel nice and chunky in the hand (if that's your thing), and I can attest to the fact (which I witnessed in person .... twice!), that if the phone is dropped wearing this case, it will survive the fall.So, it's a matter of preference. If you like 'em chunky, you can't do better than this case.

This case is solid. It’s my 2nd Pelican phone case. This thing is as rugged as they come without the bulk of “other” similar rugged cases. Very nice lip on the front side keeps the phone raised up well enough when face down that even higher falls do not affect the glass.. one downside is that the protective flaps covering the charging port and earphone jack (if using it for a 6S Plus as I am) WILL wear and eventually fail. If handled more rough than usual, they may fail quicker than expected. However, the work very well at keeping dust and debri out of the ports. My phone looks literally brand new still afte r almost 3 years of hard use. Strongly recommended this case if you are hard on your phone or are prone to accidental drops. The rubber texture also tends to lend well to some retention. I’m also still able to slip this phone into a pocket of my favorite khakis fairly easily.

Every phone I have purchased I have used a Pelican Case. When I bought my 2 Apple 5S phones, I purchased 2 cases. When I purchased my 2 Apple 8Plus phones, I bought 2 cases. Do not waste your time buying any other brand. I have not taken my 5s phones out of the Pelican cases since I purchased them and my current phones are in them. I tried to deviate from Pelican to utilize a “fashionable” case to my disappointment. I bought a case a couple weeks ago and love it, however, I don’t think it has the power of a Pelican. I also added one of those pop things to my first 8Plus case and it was pointless. Instead of trying to navigate the removal of the pop thing and sort of cosmetically marred the case. So instead of using a perfectly sound case with imperfections, I opted to buy another Pelican case.I’m very happy and will NEVER deviate again. Fashion be gone, durability is now in style.

I bought two of these case at the urging of my 16 year old son. They arrive as stated and my son did me the favor of clip mine on. It seemed to take him a minute. These are much smaller and lighter weight than previous otter box and lifefroof case I have bought. Yes I have dropped it a couple of times by now with no problem. Through no fault of the case I do have one small problem I will point out. My screen is scratched from throwing it in my purse. ( I am not very careful) after mentioning that I wish I had of put a screen protector on it the same sweet son that quick put it together when they arrive told me that a screen protector was in the original box but since he knew he would never need one he didn’t take the time to put them on,or tell his mom they were there.

I had a less bulky case for about 7 months but when my phone dropped a few weeks ago, my screen broke. I went on a quest to find a case with the kind of bevel this one has as a hope of preventing another cracked screen. I initially saw a Pelican case at Marshall's. I bought it but it was difficult to snap shut. I proceeded to order this from Amazon and got a new Zagg screen protector. I installed then both on Sunday night.On Monday, I stand up from my desk, my phone drops but I have no fear whatsoever; I'm confident in all the money I spent to protect my screen. Alas, I see a fine crack and I'm upset thinking I broke the brand new screen protector...at least it has a lifetime warranty. Mmmmh no, that's still intact (at least their product works). I believe it fell on the side and the bevel which I bought to protect the screen absorbed the impact but passed it on to the screen.My $169 question is: will the makers of the pelican case pay for the repair of my screen?

First impressions. The case is advertised to have a bundled "scratch-resistant coated screen protector" - which did not come with the case. The lover front lip hinders convenient TouchID function. Speaker covers, while convenient in portrait phone orientation, throw the stereo balance way off in landscape orientation - exactly the one this case suggests with it holster stand. In either orientation speakers' covers distort sound when it deflects from the rubber.Update: it does allow for wireless charging. I am returning the case anyhow for all the issues listed above.

When I received this phone case in the mail, I thought it looked really protective. A great replacement for my previous pelican case that lasted two years before the rubber parts began failing. Then I started using it. I bought the case because I’m clumsy and drop my phone pretty frequently. The pelican website says that the case is “constructed of impact absorbing materials (elastomer inside a rigid polycarbonate shell)” and that it has been “tested to Military Specifications to survive multiple drops”. The first time I dropped my phone from waist height onto asphalt, the case popped open, the three pieces it’s made of flew apart from the force of impact, and my phone skidded out across the ground. There was a tiny chip in the upper corner of the back of the phone. I’ve since dropped it accidentally several more times, and the case has popped open upon impact more often than not. Tonight, I dropped my phone again (I’m clumsy. This is why I have a case on it.). It landed flat on the back of the phone on tile flooring. Then I saw this giant crack down the back of my phone. My phone cracked (see the picture!) while it was still in the case. The only thing this case is good for is protecting the ports from dust and pocket lint. I should have just tried finding the old one I’d had.

The flimsy plastic (read: scratch-able!) screen protector it comes with doesn't sit flat against the phone screen. This negatively affected my ability to use the touch screen so much so that I had to remove it and use a separately purchased screen protector, thus making this an even more expensive purchase. The back of the case is terribly scratched already and it's only been a couple months since I purchased it (looks terrible but this doesn't affect the function). The rubber covers over the speakers and charge port do nothing to keep out dust and dirt. In order to use the silencing switch on the side of the phone you have to use a fingernail to flip up the rubber cover and then squeeze your finger inside to try to reach the switch directly. The best part of the case is the high sides/ edges that keep the screen more protected than most cases I have encountered.

I have 2 I-phone 8 plus phones and have these covers on both phones, perfect for industrial use.The belt clip is just a bonus, I’ll never use it.Be nice to have colours other than black.
