More than you would expect from a flag I'd say. Additionally, the white portion is also very transparent and I can see the unevenly cut black fabric inside. I wish more care had been taken into making it more professionally cut. However, it is very clearly black and should work for most purposes. I was planning on sewing a design on both sides of it but I'm not so sure how the flimsy material will hold up. I have also not yet tested it outdoors/in any weather conditions. I'll update this review more once I have tried both of those things. Overall though, not a bad buy. It is quite large. It was delivered on time and packaged well. My only issue is the thin white strip of cloth that attaches to the pole. It doesn't make the flag uniformly black. That is a distraction and an obvious flaw in the design.
