13 Inch Stainless Steel Berkey Water View Spigot for Imperial Berkey and Crown Berkey Systems

We exchanged the first spigot due to leaking. Received the second and it also leaked. I decided to try to reinstall when I noticed that tightening the base moved the rubber seal. I held the seal while tightening, making sure it didn’t move. Once secure I tightened more. I’ve been using it for a couple of months now with no leaks. Works great!

I love the high polish stainless steel and the heavy build quality. Movement is smooth and tight.I do wish, however, that the indicator ball was a vibrant red color so it could be more easily seen tha. the light blue/grey color.Just looking at the unit, a 2nd change I **might** consider would be to make the total length shorter so that it would not be disturbed when taking the top tank off. That said, there probably is a very good reason it is the height it is - assumably to read the water level accurately for a very full lower tank.Overall - incredibly pleased. Thanks Berkey.

With four adults all on differing schedules we definitely needed a sight glass to indicate when it's time for a refill, instead of one person getting stuck with it all the time (me)… It was easy to install, no leaks (followed instructions that came with,) looks really cool on our Berkey.As an added bonus being able to see the water level precisely, we can know when to refill it a bit early when we know we are going to use the excess for canning, or cooking or making up cold beverages to keep in the fridge without fear of it overflowing. When you "get it", you get it.

If you are willing to spend the money on a high quality water Filtration system, don't get cheap on the accessories for it. Keep the whole system made by Berkey.I bought a few other off brand valves with the sight glass over the years and even recently. Most of them would always have a slight leak. The last one I bought was half the price of the Berkey and was junk. I couldn't get it to stop leaking. But it only came with one silicone washer without any steel washer. It was garbage.This Berkey valve with the sight glass also offers a gray silicone check ball in a separate bag. If you are older like I am, I highly recommend using it.Unlike other valves with the sight glass models from other makers, this unit comes with a cone shaped steel washer and a cone shaped silicone washer for both sides of the water holding tank. This is very important and the best way to stop any leaking of water. This unit also has a nut that is tightened by hand. This will allow you to tighten the nut properly, without distorting the silicone washer. That is awesome.I highly recommend this item. If you buy it, you will only cry once. If you buy a cheaper model and then have to buy this to solve your problem of leaking, then you will cry twice.

Using the power of gravity and water's inclination to fill space at the lowest energy potential, you too can use this expensive glass tube and metal housing to see about how full your Berkey reservoir is. Product is well built and spigot works. Pours a bit slower than the stock plastic one, but worth the price to stop everyone from overfilling the filter again.Don't forget to put the washer in and close it tightly as per the instructions or it will leak. Ball thing sometimes gets air bubbles under it and becomes a bit less accurate, but not a huge deal.

I would not recommend this product. I will be returning this item. It leaks from multiple places as you can see from my photos.

Love this. It is a must have when you have a Berkey!

Looks great with my modded Berkey Traveler and works a treat. Tip…make sure you tighten the rubber seals and washers real good or it will leak, it’s hard to get it super tight so you need someone with strong fingers, but make sure white seals are on both sides and well flattened against the walls of the stainless steel. It also pours well and fast if you use the bottom canister Anti-Airlock Clip. It a must have to keep a check on your water levels.

This is so great to know where the water level is at without having to guess or remove the top canister to look. I wish we would have bought it when we got the Berkey.

Though the standard plastic factory issued one broke (after 7 years), I splurged. The water level is a must, and the metal construction is very well laid out. I find it overpriced, but it stands in my "better quality hardware I use everyday" category. Had Berkey offered it as an option instead of the basic spout, then maybe it would not seem so overpriced in retro.
