When they work, they're great - high failure rate.
I manage a facility with two doors that require these small electric strikes. Every year, both doors fail to open and the problem ends up being the strikes failure. With each failure, the strikes suddenly drop the step-down transformers from 9v to 7v or less preventing the solenoid from fully releasing the latch. We've been through six of these in the last three years.Unfortunately, Trine is the only company that makes these small strikes, so we're stuck with them. I don't honestly believe it's a manufacturing problem, rather the design of these for such small applications makes them unreliable if used on doors that may experience temperature changes as they all seem to fails after it gets warm.
