Good starter amp with power when used correctly
Rolled different tube . Good basic tube am . I run dragonfly red or blue in between phone and amp for clarity and additional power .Pretty much will power anything in this configuration and is very clear. Tried violectric chronos as well. Great clarity but not as much power as the dragonfly . The amp is pretty powerful on its own but additional dac/amp in between phone (source ) makes it sing for portable set up.

Not a reliable product
Well what did you expect you say based on the price. From the reviews a little more but tube inserted played for a few then static introduced. Put back in my other unit. No issues. Reseated the tube. Nope why troubleshoot a new unit. Swnt it back defective

Changed how I listen to music, watch movies and shows, and play games
It was like I was listening to music for the first time again. I downloaded hi-res lossless and Dolby atmos on Apple Music, plugged in my modi3/e for a better dac that was affordable entry level, and connected it to my Vali2++ with a separately bought RCA cable and used the default tube that it came with. Configured it to sound right with my headphones as well adjusting volume to preferred level and it was damn near life changing. It felt like I was in the room with them live. Songs I’ve heard many times felt like I heard for the first time, older songs especially shined with this setup, everything is just much richer and has more presence. I went with the Vali2++ because I’m a beginner and not an enthusiast so I just wanted something that sounded good and in my research (also mentioned by the manufacturer) they aren’t as accurate as other amps in that price range and a bunch of audiophile nonsense as to why it’s bad because of numbers but actually listening to it it’s one of the best sounding amps out there which is exactly what I was looking for, something that was the best sounding without being more than 250 dollars. I was also intrigued by the tube and hybrid design, I definitely am enjoying the sound profile it gives to the whole experience.

Buyer Beware - They don't bother including the hardware to hook them up.
I purchased the Schiit Vali 2, Loki, and Modi aka the "Schiit stack" from Schiit directly, shipped was just under $500. I just received them today after 2 delays, which has directly impacted my day to day work and guess what? They didn't even bother including the cables and did not say anything on the product description they were not included, so another day of waiting for their Schiit cables. I also emailed their support just after placing the order and I've yet to receive a response. It was about something minor, but the fact its been almost a week is another indicator they don't have it all together. They tote in giant letters "UP TO 5 YEAR WARRANTY" on every page, just below the product you're looking at too. Check the warranty on EACH product. Not just theirSchiit is a company for sure.

Quirky and fun
Going to keep this short and sweet, powers my dt 1990 pro's and other 300 ohm headphones easily. the build quality is fantastic and this GE tube they included really doesn't need to be swapped out. The sound def has some distortion to it, not so much that you lose all the details but it does add a bit of a holographic effect to some vocals and maybe softens the bass response a bit.Weirdly these have become my favorite for electronic music which I did not purchase this for, I thought maybe they would give vocal music a more natrual tone, but in the end I think I like it better for newer music and mostly electronic mixes.I'd say dont' let this be your only amp if you are just getting into headphones, but have this in addition to a solid state amp so you can see the unique characteristics that tubes might provide. While it won't replace my solid state amp for everything, I'm glad to have it in my collection.

Wonderful
This isn't my first amp, and it doesn't claim to be the best, but it's amazing (and it is the best I've personally used)
