I bought this for my son on his eight birthday. We played it all day and he was thrilled with it. I had a slot car race set when I was a kid, a nice one, and this one is much, much better. The cars got better after using them for an hour or so. I think they had kind of a break in period. They began to hug the track even better than at the start. It has a neat feature on the hand control, it's a removable clip that acts as a governor. When the clip is on it keeps max speed to 70% which is still fast. With the clip in I found I still had to slow down for curves. With the clip out the car is really fast and it requires more skill to race well and remain on the track. But whether the clip is in or out there is the turbo boost button which is so much fun, works very well, and makes the cars just fly. But yet, you can still maintain control with proper bursts of turbo at the right moments. The cars will fly off the track if you give it too much speed but that is a big part of the fun. We laughed often when we'd crash at the intersection or fly off the track. Also the looped track (we always called it loopty-loop) works great. The banked curve works great. Both require additional skill but not too much for an 8 year old. I'm very impressed with the fit and finish. Assembly is easy. Track pieces fit tightly together. Nothing slips apart or moves around while racing. I'm impressed with this toy. I'm planning to buy extension components for Christmas gifts.

Fun track for all ages. This was a gift for a 5 year old.It is entertaining and controlable for him while also being fast enough and challenging for adults. Well built and easy to store. I would recommend if you're looking for something like this for kids.

Very nice slot car track and cars. This particular track is very challenging with the elevated curve. That said my six year old grandson mastered it. I cannot compete. Easy assembly and seems to be of good quality. I would spring for the extra track that is available to get rid of the elevated curve. Four stars as guard rails do not want to stay on and a bit flimsy.

The media could not be loaded. I remember my older brother having carrera and enjoying it with him. This Mario Kart carerra is perfect for my 10year autistic son, who loves playing Mario Kart on the Switch with me, and this is now also another way of us being able to play together!! Him and I are getting the hang of it! It's pretty durable, comes with Mario and Luigi (i bought Yoshi in addition as he LOVES Yoshi the most).The essambley instructions are a bit confusing, only a piece of paper and it doesn't really make it 100% clear on some parts where to put them together, but I figured it out nevertheless! It is functioning properly and worth the money spent!! We will get lots of play time out of it. Looking into buying the add on tracks in addition to this!

This never worked right from day 1. The one car wouldn't make contact. We could get it working after a few minutes but it was such a hassle and then day 3 it quit working period. My husband wouldn't take it apart to return it because it was too much work supposedly and he was going to try and fix it but months later it never got fixed so it was placed in our spare walk in closet where it has remained. Extended warranty plan hasn't done us good either.

I was able to configure the course in a way as to custom fit into a corner of the living room (under a bench, curved into and out of the corner, and around the front of a bookcase. The grand-kids (and Pop-Pop) are all enjoying this well constructed track set.

Cars don't stay on the track when taking the curves. Very annoying!The set should have more guard rails and track supports.Had to return the entire set because one of the cars was defective.2/23/25THIS IS THE SECOND ONE I HAVE GOTTEN BECAUSE THE FIRST ONE HAD DEFECTIVE CARS AND IT HAD TO BE RETURNED. THEY SENT THE 2ND ONE AND GUESS WHAT! CARS ARE DEFECTIVE THEY BURN OUT AFTER A FEW HOURS OF RUN TIME! CARS ARE JUNK!!!
