Wow! Embossing Powder Black and White Bundle: Primary Ebony, Opaque Bright White, White Pearl, Clear Gloss, 15ML

Don't let my title fool you, there is nothing wrong with this product. I had never heard of embossing powder until I purchase a laser etcher. Among the sample products that came with the etcher was a tiny bottle of embossing powder. I tried lasering it once with nominal success before accidentally spilling all the embossing powder on the carpet. So I went hunting on Amazon for embossing powder and I was very pleased to find such a wide variety. I started thinking about all kinds of projects I could do like gold embossed monogram journals, embossed key chains, dog tags, business cards, stationary, etc. I was about to become the laser embossing king! I was so excited when they finally arrived and I immediately began my laser embossing frenzy. Now to be fair, nowhere on any of the embossing powder ads does it state that embossing powder can be used with laser etchers...They aren't really designed to be used with lasers, as I soon found out. That's not to say that they don't work, but it proved to be a lot more difficult than I thought. First, the laser must be set to very low power otherwise you end up with burnt pieces of embossing that liquefied and solidified and burnt all before even getting a chance to stick to the surface you wanted it to. Even with low power, the laser tends to melt more powder than I intended it to which made fine, straight lines almost impossible. Another factor was that there needs to be a perfectly smooth and uniformly distributed layer of powder of the perfect thickness to get the desired result. Uneven or too little powder tends to lead to burnt spots. Too much powder and your nice design solidifies without sticking to the surface and thus falls apart. Oh, by the way, the perfect uniformly spread amount of powder varies according to the surface you're trying have it adhere to. So, my legendary laser embossing fantasy didn't turn out like I wanted it to. But since I have all this embossing powder, I invested in embossing pens and liquid and a cute mini heat gun and now I'm having fun embossing the traditional way.

I use this product for embossing sentiments that I cut out of card stock . Although the clear and the white are nice the Black one is way too messy and because the jars are so small it’s hard to put back into the jars.

One of the four little jars was missing which must have happened when Amazon filled the order. Amazon straightened it out and the product works just as expected.

I have used this product in my scrapbook class. It is easy to use and Love the finished touch it gives the card. Look for bundle offer, you will need the embossing buddy (to clean and remove static) versa mark pad that you will use with your stamper and a heat gun to solify the embossing powder. You'll love it!

I didn't try this embossing powder because the bottles were so very tiny. I returned them. They may perform well, but I just don't know.
