Calabria Reading Glasses - 718 Flexie

I bought a pair of these wonderful reading glasses about 15 or 20 years ago, and kept them in the car for the days when I forgot my prescription glasses, since I really can't see close up without glasses. Well, this last time at the eye doctor's my prescription hadn't changed, and the reading glasses were more comfortable than my $500 prescription glasses, so I decided to upgrade. These are the same glasses I got years and years ago, but the frames are a tiny bit firmer, and they are just even better than before. I love these. They are so comfortable. They are just what I need for reading and the computer and my phone. I wear them on the top of my head when not using them for close up work, and they are so light and comfortable I sometimes have to check and make sure I really have them with me. The price is fabulous, and the quality is wonderful. These will be my main glasses from now on. In the photo it looks like there's a glare on the glasses, but believe me, I do not experience a glare when looking through these glasses.

Reading glasses can be found for about $5 a pair, so why buy these? First, they are very light and don't compress the ears or nose at all. Second, the flexibility of the frames and temple make them even more comfortable - great when you have a significant amount of reading or fine work to accomplish. The lenses don't get oily (long eyelashes) as fast as my cheaper readers. The lenses are just the right size, allowing plenty of visual field for reading, but also the ability to look over the top when needed. The curvature of the temple tips holds the eyeglasses in place, but one can slide them forward easily when desired. These readers are also available in diopters that aren't easily found in drugstore or buying club packages.

I can't say enough about these glasses.They are so light, I could wear them 24 hours straight and feel no pressure whatsoever on the bridge of my nose or around my ears where hard framed glasses had made painful indentations on the sides of my head.They are so flexible yet strong that I wear them to bed while I read or watch videos on my Kindle Fire - laying sideways does not damage them - and they are so comfortable, I can fall asleep with them on and not even know it till I feel my face. Other glasses will break after 2-3 months of laying on my side, these have been going strong for close to a year with no damage whatsoever.They are attractive. I can't tell you how many compliments I have received on these (I have the fuscia). They really are beautiful.They are also petite and feminine - they fit my face beautifully even though I am not petite, they just work.I am now buying them in purple because my vision has changed and because I love purple, and I can't wait for them to come in! I hope this company never goes out of business because I am a customer for life.

These are great! Very lightweight and flexible but hold their shape. Small enough to slide down on your nose and be able to look over them. They come in various strengths which is a nice because I need +1.50 for reading, +0.75 for the computer, etc. They are very lightweight which makes them as comfortable as you're probably ever going to get.Another great thing? The case! I leave a pair of readers in almost every room in the house. However, my puppies love to eat my glasses. These come with a plastic case that the dogs can't open. And even better, the cases are labeled with the color and strength of the glasses so you can remember which pair/color is what strength! Brilliant and super helpful! I now own 5 pair and want more for my travel bag, purse, car, etc. They are just the right price point to allow me to do that. Kudos.

These are my favorite reading glasses. I have severe migraines, so heavy glasses or those which are tight on my head trigger migraines. Also, although I love my optometrist, having an eye exam always triggers a migraine, even when he's very careful. So, I buy store bought reading glasses.... lots of them. I have 7 pairs of Calibria Flexie glasses.With one pair, the stems broke when I tried to attach them to a set of eyeglass holders. At least 6 pairs have such scratched lenses, which drives me crazy. But, they are so light and they are so comfortable that I keep buying them. I would probably have 3 or 4 pairs, anyway, because I like one on my night stand, one one table text to where I sit in the living room and at least one pair in a glasses case attached to my purse. And, I like different colors and at least 2 different strengths, depending on my eyes work (migraine can affect vision.) But, due to the delicacy of these glasses, I have just bought what i think is my eigth pair. I still love them.So, if I could use these frames with a sturdier set of lenses, I would.If you buy these, please keep your glasses safe in a separate case. Maybe wrapped in uber soft lens cleaning fabric Don't drop them under the couch, like I did or put three pairs into one glasses case, so you can have a 2.0 and a 1.5, depending on how your eyes are working that day, like I have.They are comfortable as can be. Please be careful with them.
