- COFFEE ORIGIN grown on the high mountains of Sumatra Indonesia, Monsoon Malabar & Brazil where the altitude is perfect for growing 100% Arabica flavorful coffee. Each bean is selected based on more than 14 different variances, including size, taste and flavor, before it's ever considered to be part of our Moses Dark Roast coffee. The growers are as passionate about their coffee as we are and believe in the greater good, taking care of their fellow man and the earth around them.
- ROASTING PROCESS each roast is crafted in small batches in a Loring coffee roaster by our Master Roaster Moshe. The Loring roaster is environmentally friendly and provides an extremely smooth taste. ROASTED FRESH ON ORDER our 5LB bags ship directly from our roastery and we ship the same day and most orders arrive within 2-3 business days giving you the ultimate fresh tasting coffee - coffee needs 2 days to degas before it reaches its ideal taste and gets to rest during shipping
- TASTE PROFILE no char or burn in this coffee, this is a Vienna roast and perfect for breakfast or your coffee breaks. You will taste the darkness without it leaving a poor aftertaste. This is an extremely smooth coffee with notes of chocolate, almond and a hint of Jasmine.
- STORAGE sealed in a double layered bag for insulation with a one-way degassing valve to retain the freshness of the coffee. The bag has a tin tie to allow for storage
- BREWING SUGGESTIONS use 1,2 or 3 tbs. per 6oz cup based on the strength you would like in your cup. Adjust to taste. Brewing in a French Press will give you more body while using a Chemex will brew a lighter tasting cup. Using an automatic 10-12 cup brewer would be best to use 1 tbs. per cup.
Our original roast which launched The Chosen Bean. Moshe, our founder and Roast-Master enjoyed a dark roast and was not satisfied with the coffees he found locally. A friend generously offered to teach Moshe how to roast his coffee and thus began the development of our original coffee blend. Naming the coffee after himself, the Moses (a.k.a. Moshe) was a natural and when thinking about who he was named after, the biblical Moses, Moshe began to dream up images of himself carrying coffee instead of tablets to give the world the best coffee possible. One thing led to another and before you know it, Moshe designed art for coffee bags, bought a larger roaster and began selling his signature roast. Ever since that time, Moshe has been faithfully roasting and tasting coffees from all over the world to give his "tribe" something special and delicious. The Moses Dark Roast coffee is a blend of single origin coffees from Sumatra, Brazil & India. Each bean is selected for its unique characteristics and small batch roasted, ensuring the taste is strong, flavorful and doesn't have a burnt aftertaste.
