What area square footage does this heat?

Well is hard to say exactly. You have to take acount for tent size, twnt material and outdoor temperature. I personally have used it in 0°F in a non insulated hot tent and was about to get the inside tent to about 50°F. Another time it was around 25° but inside the tent was in the 60's. I've been in heavy rain and snow with no issues. Hope this helps.

Is there any way to get a wire warming shelf for the 15" stove?

I believe this is made in Japan. Tomount is a Japanese brand and when I go to their website (which is in Japanese only), the product page gets translated "Comes from Japan" by the browser translation. And Japan does also have a very respectable foundry industry to coincide with the manufacturing industry there. There are no markings on my stove that i can find to verify but it stands to reason this stove is made in Japan. It would be nice if the vender would confirm this.

What is the diameter of the chimney pipe? Can segmented chimney pipes be used with this unit? The rolled chimney isn't tall enough for my tent.

The diameter of the chimney is 6 cm (2.36 inches). Yes, you can use other chimney pipes.
