I wanted to get a pair of oakley kato glasses bit didn't want to pay 350 for a new pair so I gave up that idea. Then I seen these glasses while searching for some bicycle glasses to help with the wind in the eyes. These are great lenses that darken in the sunlight and are perfect in the wee hours of the morning. I absolutely love them.

The cycling glasses are a perfect 5 star. The glasses were well packaged, come in a very nice case and it includes an additional nose bridge rubber, holding straps, cleaning cloth and an additional storage pouch.The first thing I noticed when wearing these high-quality glasses is how comfortable they are on my nose and around my ears which is important on long distance rides.I tried theses light weight and sturdy glasses on a 4-hour ride with no issues. The glasses provided significant protection against the nature’s elements. The Photochromic feature is a tremendous benefit of not having to change glasses when it gets dark as they transition within seconds to the outside lighting.I have also tested and compared these glasses on my motorcycle helmet and they performed much better than my motorcycle glasses. The wind protection especially around the nose area is outstanding and I no longer have to change glasses when it gets dark outside.I have had several high-end glasses throughout the years and these glasses are by far the best when it comes to wind protection, versatility, comfort, quality of the material and the craftsmanship.

The nose piece on this model is way too wide and it obstructs a large potion of the field of view. I have worn a lot of sunglasses through the years, and I would say it is as bad of an obstruction as I have seen on any model of sunglasses. I don’t think the problem can be easily remedied. In addition, the area around the nose where the lens bends is way too large of a radius bend (too wide), and the curved area completely distorts the view. On premium brands that have this nose shield design, the curved area is much thinner and the nose piece is much narrower. The whole point of the Kato design is to have a wide and clear field of view. I purchased these to ride a road bike in some busy downtown areas and to trail run on very steep and technical trails. As soon as I tried them on I started a return to Amazon. There is no way I would feel safe bombing a big trail descent with these on. No way.

I tried to use this on a century ride today, on a clear, blue, very sunny day. The most it did was keep dust out of my eyes. It never darkened. Never changed. It had ZERO protection from the sun. It can’t be considered sunglasses. I’m very disappointed and will not buy from this company again. Promises unfulfilled.

The look and finish are well made.

I don’t recommend them thou they r cool looking.
