The Jason Fly Case (XIII)

Next volume in the XIII story
With the last volume, the XX conspiracy was more or less wrapped up, and ended the first XIII storyline.BUT.We don't know who Number I is. Only II knew that, and he killed himself. And XIII doesn't know who he really is. Is he Jason Fly, or is that yet another false identity? And the Mongoose, I's assassin is still out there. This album continues the storyline with the first of a 2-part story, so I recommend you get volume 7 at the same time and read them together. Here, we focus on who XIII is. He is still trying to find out who he is, by finding out more about Jason Fly. He travels to a small town in the Rockies (not clear were, but seems to be in Colorado). It seems his father lived there until he died, and Jason was put in an orphanage. But there is more to what happened, and Jason's appearance bring this all to a head.In addition, the Mongoose is after XIII. It's not clear who he is working for. It Number I still after Jason, or is the Mongoose operating on his own to protect himself?

Onto the next catastrophe
With this book we finally get some detail into one of the more mysterious characters who has appeared all the way through the series but not really had a major role -the mongoose. I think the main similarly at this stage between the Jason Bourne books/films and this series is that these guys just aren't given a break, poor old XIII just goes from one major calamity to another. This time he appears to be involved in some deep seated local murder pact or something - I guess we'll find out in the next book as this one finishes in a major cliff-hanger with the whole neighbourhood running after him in a "shoot to kill" frenzy. XIII doesn't get a Sunday off.
