The ideal Gaiwan to set the standard.
After going through various gaiwans I came across this gem that ticks all the right boxes and more. Starting with it's design of a tall body with a proportional opening allows for a very controlled steady flow of tea. The lid grips the opening to prevent slippage, and the lid handle is near perfect height to allow for a tight grip. The outer texture is there of dry clay, and becomes smoother the more you ha for it over time. For $10 on a good day you can't go wrong with this Gaiwan for gongfu tea brewing. This Gaiwan should set the standard of what makes a Gaiwan so good.

Good little Teacup
First I must say this vendor is very responsive. My first item was broken in shipping. I emailed them and they sent a second item right away with extra packing and I received it in perfect condition. Yes this cup is small, I have visited China and can tell you this size is normal for them. The Yixing clay used for this particular cup is only found in China, that is the beauty of this cup. It has a semi rough finish because you season it according to the type of tea you will use to drink out of it. If you were to buy a teapot made of this clay you will only brew one type of tea in it. You would use one for green tea only, one for black tea only, one for Oolong tea only etc. Yes they are delicate but when seasoned and used properly they will bring out more flavor in your tea. That is the hidden beauty in this clay.

Great pick for the solo tea session!
This is a nice small gaiwan. It’s just the right size for a personal tea session. If you have a medium sized hand then it should be a good fit. I personally couldn’t have picked a better gaiwan. This one fits my hand like a glove. Also it has a nice texture on the outside (I ordered the terra-cotta colored one) that makes for a good grip so that it doesn’t slip out of your hand while pouring. Also, this one has a perfectly fitted lid. One thing to keep in mind is the milliliters of this one. If you’re not familiar with the metric system then this one is about a standard unit of 1 cup. Other than that it seems like it’s well made. I have not complaints. I think it was a good deal for the price. Five stars to the makers of this cute little guy👍🏼👍🏼

Good value
Works as a gaiwan should. There's a small imperfection on mine but it's so minor it doesn't matter, especially given the cost. Gaiwan doesn't get too hot at the edges when pouring even when doing back-to-back (2-3+) infusions.

Pretty and useful
I use this for brewing my Pu'Erh. I love the fact that it is glazed on the inside and unglazed on the outside. I am hoping that, over time, the outside will patina. I get compliments on it from those who see it on my shelf.

perfect for single person
Its small and works great for brewing for one person, I love this style of brewing for relaxation. If I am brewing for 2-3 I would use a larger one. Feels silky smooth when wet and I didn't have any issues with it altering the taste of the tea like I had with another zisha set.

Well made, and efficient.
Small, but elegant, and efficient.

Incomplete gazing and not levelled saucer
Function and usable, however quality is closer to seconds. Saucer is not levelled and marks of incomplete glazing. Bought 2 pieces and both reflect similar issues. If it's just one piece I could ignore it but both? Brings into question on quality.

Lovely gaiwan
I bought another of these as it’s a lovely Gaiwan and not too expensive. Decent size for a single person and stable. Looks nice too.
