Prayer: 40 Days of Practice Paperback – January 20, 2016

This is a beautiful book of somewhat simple but profound prayers coupled with amazing artwork from Scott Erickson. There are is a single prayer and art piece for each day, and then there are weekly contemplations on particular kinds of prayer practices. I found the book to be insightful and profound, and also incredibly helpful actually growing the practice of prayer. There are many books which can teach about prayer (I have read many of them), but this is one of the few that actually helped me actually pray in a more authentic way.This is one of my favorite books, and is on the top of my list of books that I give away.

I am just in love with this book. The prayers are simple, yet perfect. The artwork is something I want to add to my walls. I was thinking it would be nice to have each prayer on the same page as the artwork and put it up on display. We go through the prayers on a weekly basis and the family discusses how it has impacted them through the day. So to have it up for the week with the visual would be a nice reminder and help the little ones with the visual reminder. I highly recommend this book for anyone, any age and even people who are not super religious but like the little reminders that God is around.

This is powerful resource that I've used as a supplement for teaching on prayer as well as personally. The prayers are simple enough to remember all day long, but challenging enough that they demand lots of meditation and reflection. If you are new to faith or have believed your whole life, then you'll find a treasure in these pages. The images as well are stunning and incredibly thoughtful. I haven't seem imagery that points to God so well in a long time.

What a stunning book. At once a work of art, a guided series of prayers, and a collection of stories. The illustrations really set this apart, and have me flipping through the pages on a daily basis. This book is intended to be kept around your person and given a moment's attention to create a more prayerful posture in our lives. One of the best books I've ever seen of this sort. Extremely happy to own it.

This is a wonderful book with though provoking ideas and prayers. I’ve used this in multiple bible study groups and it really starts conversations SO well. I’m currently leading a high school bible study and all my girls love it. It’s a great book to study with others, because the prayers and images can be interpreted differently by each person, giving you unique perspectives! Highly recommended.

This is such a powerful and beautiful book. I carry it around with me at all times.

A lovely devotional that can be used individually or in a group. The artist's representations of accompanying reflections evoke such a variety of responses. Have given as gifts and used in college Bible Study groups.

Love this, beautiful illustrations, short simple prayer guidance
