Aquascape 29154 Water Flow Meter for Pond Water Feature Hose and Pool

I have several old trees that need regular watering to survive. But I never knew how much I was giving them. Given the drought here in California I decided I needed to know that info. Looked at numerous units but they were all cheap and reportedly very inaccurate. Settled on this one given it's industrial buildIt's 10% off in accuracy - 11 gallons indicated when only 10 have flowed. But that's easy math to correct in your head. What peeved me was that upon receiving it, the unit comes with a web address printed right on it. [...] I went to that website and found that I could have had it for 1/3 less than what I paid on Amazon. Why Google couldn't find that web address during numerous searches is beyond me. I contacted the seller on Amazon and complained about the price. Their response was, Amazon charges fees they have to cover, and "welcome to capitalism". They're now on my do-not-buy-from list. I understand they have costs to cover, but the attitude just sucks.This is the best unit I have found to date. Just be advised that it's cheapest bought directly from the source.

This is a well built compact mechanical water meter. It has three water use indicators. A numeral readout down to the tenth of a gallon; a rotating indicator, dial type, that shows one hundredth gallon use ( one tenth gallon per revolution); and finally a spinning star indicator that will spin to show even a slight trickle of usage. The meter can be rotated 360 degrees on the meter body, that enables it to be read from any direction. It has a lead seal pressed on copper wire to guard against tampering.I would say it is accurate to about +/- 5% given my rudimentary testing with a gallon jug.As far as another reviewer's complaint about the indicators not being zero to zero in sync; that really has only aesthetic bearing to what this meter is accomplishing.

Installed this water meter for my pond. Works ok (no way to check calibration), but when the dial reads about 7 gal, the digital number hits is on the center of the number, which makes it confusing to read the total. It should have been set at the factory to hit the center of the readout number when the dial hits zero. Example: readout reads 000041 exactly, and the dial reads 6.5. Is it 000416.5 or 000406.5 gal.

This has helped us get the exact amount of water in our bed so that when we need to move it, we get it exactly as it was before!
