I did like this product but it was not to sturdy and stripped easly i will order something else to replace this one soon.

The oversize escutcheon (cover plate) makes it easier to replace a two or three handle valve setup with Moen's single handle valve without tearing out and replacing a tile wall. You're still going to want to come through the back side of the wall to do the necessary plumbing to install the mixing valve. Fortunately I was able to do that. Unfortunately the Moen Posi-Temp pressure balancing valve that this kit works with does not include any way to regulate the volume (rate of flow) of the water. Had I realized this to begin this I would have chosen a different brand. Despite the name, the Posi-Temp valve is not a temperature regulating valve. It does compensate for sudden changes in pressure between hot and cold supplies.

I wanted to convert my old 2-handle tiled shower that was dripping to a 1-handle shower. This item easily covered up the 2 holes and looks very nice. The backing plate is somewhat bigger than most 1-handle showers, but that's needed to cover the 2 holes.The shower head works well. It only has a single setting, but it has nice-feeling stream.The backing plate does not sit completely flush against the wall, but has a foam gasket on the back that fits against the wall to keep the water out. I'm a little concerned that someday it will wear out and start leaking water behind the wall. Maybe I'll need to add some sealant.

Did exactly what I needed it to do. Very pleased.

Great way to replace old two handle shower valves. Provides an updated look to an old bathroom without spending a fortune. Must purchase valve separate.

The plate in the photo with the red and blue gradients for hot and cold has been discontinued by the manufacturer. The new plate just has a sun on the left for hot and a snow flake on the right for cold.
