Not just for children
Loving this. I’m a Religious Studies teacher and this book is giving me so many ideas of how to make the scriptures accessible for young people. Definitely suitable for adults as well as older children.

Not very appealing for children
It comes as a novel. Considering that the book is for children starting age 7, as it says, I was expecting some interesting layout to attract kids attention. The font and print is very average and is defo not for a kid to read. May be I need to read it as bed time book to my son. I think there is lot in the Vedas and Upanishads and it all cant be covered in one book for kids. I was expecting a short story telling with some pictures to make more sense. The chapters have just too much info for a kid to be able to digest.

Great!
I am an adult but wanted to read the “kids” version to get an introduction and overview of the Vedas and Upanishads, which are new to me. I loved reading the stories and will read more about them!

Relevant for adults as much as children
If you feel like a child not knowing what Vedas & Upanishad are even if your are an adult, this book is for you as a primer. It was for me.

Great start on HINDU philosophy for every Indian
Absolutely fantastic book to get a glimpse of sacred and age old Indian literature. I wanted a quick guide to Vedas and Upanishads and this book turned out to be a boon. Very nicely written, easy to understand with a lot of interesting facts. Not just for teenagers, also useful for grown up like me. Every Indian should read this book, irrespective of his or her religion.I did not like the name of Wendy Doninger in Bibliography, but I am glad that the main content of the book does not have an apologetic view on Hinduism. Except this everything else in this book is just fantastic and very interesting

Must in every library and each household
Amazing job by the author. Makes a cakewalk out of explaining the intricate and sophisticated topic of non-duality and gives important and accurate historical descriptions of how Hindu society and thought developed and progressed from antiquity to modern times. MUST READ for every child and adult alike, especially if you want to grasp what Hinduism or sanatan and Advaita actually is.

This book is an excellent insight into the Vedas and Upanishads.
This book is excellent introduction and also an ever lasting reference to understanding the Vedas and Upanishads. This books is ideal for all ages. It is truely an inspirational book and forms a bridge for tackling these scriptures, which at times can seem like a daunting task, but the book summaries important aspects in a very effective way.
