Hello. For RLN36, you can connect 4 PoE switches, and you can connect 36 cameras in total. We recommend connecting 9 cameras to each switch.

Can the Reolink 4K PTZ PoE RLC-823A camera connect and take power via network port to the NVR or does it go via switch?

Hello. RLN36 doesn't support PoE. So you need to connect the 823A to this NVR via a PoE switch.

Will that nvr support different brands of the ip cameras for example d-link ones?

Hello. Afraid not. Reolink NVR is designed for the Reolink camera. We recommend using the Reolink Poe camera and adapter wifi camera with this security NVR.
