Does this have wires for a reverse gear?

It doesn’t have wires specifically for reverse but you can program reverse multiple different ways depending on your throttle setup.

Which displays does this controller support?

Well FLIPSKY has a GPS/Screen that is plug and play, and gives you access to VESCTool for altering parameters in real time. Another option is to get the Blutooth Dongle and use iPhone or Android with VescTool App. I fabricated a harness that incorporates wires needed, I have not decided which screen I will try yet.

Would this work on a 24v/14ah/20hr lead acid battery? i want to test it on my kids ride on car before i upgrade to a 12s lipo battery config...

Yes, I used a VESC based motor controller for a powerewheels mod with variable throttle. 12v may be too low. I did 24v. You have to tell the vesc software you have DC motors if you go that route.

Is it plug and play? Three plug throttle, hall wires, negative and positive and that's it? Anything special?

No it is not plug and play. Yes you can use all those things, but you’d want to program your throttle curve and all other parameters as well.

Razor scooter upgrade

Update: As of Jan 2023 there is a firmware update so this will run on the VESC v6 firmware. You'll need to download an manually update the firmware the first time. See the esk8 forum for instructions. This firmware fixes some issues in the stock firmware that ships with the device. I upgraded the motor and ESC on a Razor e100. This fit the bill and has plenty of overhead. Using with a Flipsky 6354 motor. So far no issues but this is bare bones so you may want to spend more money on an on/off switch. The VESC software has profiles and when I put it in Dad mode it pulls almost 100 amps. Kid mode allows you to cap top speed and max power which is nice. Definitely not an entry level esc but it works once configured.

PITA to setup, had to play Whack a mole with firmwares, *Use 75100 V2 for this*

First thing, the Flipsky VESC's never ship with the correct firmware installed. I installed the 75100 firmware with a 72V battery, and it read it as 120V and wouldnt run the motor setup due to an overvoltage. You can bypass by using 130V as the max voltage, or for some reason, use the 75100 V2 firmware. It works. Was a PITA but finally got it to work. Do not put this in a bag if using it for an Ebike, it will thermal throttle, I found that out quick. This controller needs to be in the open not in a bag.

Do you homework/ VESC Tool app

Rocket in my pocket! Working well. Was very difficult working the programming portion from the VESC Tool. The type c wire that it came with kept cutting out mid upload of programming.** If this happens to you get a high quality type C USB cord** or go the extra mile and get the Bluetooth adapter. The VESC Tool is 3.99 in the app store but on the website you can get is for free using a laptop. I recommend watching as many YouTube videos on VESC programming before you buy this. The set up wizard is pretty easy for a quick set up. I am overall very happy with my purchase the only reason it doesn't get the 5 star is the complexity of the programming
