Good quality, just like the ones in the army!
High quality plastic and the cover is also high quality and both are durable to withstand the rough treatment they can go through! They don't have the promask drinking tube top though! But for the price they are a great value for the money!

Cover good ... Canteen bottle bad
The canteen pouch (cover) is great. Sturdy construction, and fits on my web belt. The canteen itself is a piece of crap. It leaks like sieve, and reeks of plastic. Unfortunately, in order to get the canteen pouch (cover), you need to buy the canteen too (I could find no canteen covers sans canteens for sale on Amazon). Never the less, it was worth getting the crappy plastic bottle in order to get the cover. I just purchased a different nalgene bottle for the pouch, and now I have the perfect canteen to carry when hiking and backpacking.

Canteen...
What do you write in a review about a canteen?... It doesn't leek, it doesn't make the drink inside of it taste like plastic. It doesn't stink of plastic like some plastic things do...Okay, well I bought this and filled it with cinnamon schnapps before going to a family picnic. My extended family drives me nuts so I thought getting bombed might be a good way to deal with them at this picnic. So I sat there drinking from my canteen while Aunt Clara rambled on about how intuitive her dog is and Uncle Ben droned on about the weather. The scope of this schnapps-in-canteen coping mechanism I had devised for this picnic was tested to its core while listening to my grandfather rant about the Dodgers... from when the Dodgers were still in Brooklyn.Normally baseball is something I view as a legalized form of torture. I manage to survive most baseball conversations by fantasizing that the speaker is being loaded into a catapult, the precious schnapps contained in my canteen propelled me to an entirely different survival mechanism. That's right, I encouraged my Grandfather to continue his Brooklyn Dodgers rant with my sister, who I assured him was fascinated by baseball. Yes, deflection!I don't remember most of what happened after but, later that evening I woke under a tree about a half mile away from where the picnic was with my empty canteen still firmly clasped in my hands.

Great for boys bday party.
These were purchased as party favor for a boys b-day adventure hike. The kids loved these. These are not to considered as serious military grade canteens. The pouch is not that durable. But as a fun item for kids to play with or for light use, these are great. Don't forget to thoroughly wash the canteen inside before using.

Meh...
It's been over 3 decades since I regularly used actual military issue equipment so my memory might not be accurate, but I recall there being a rubber gasket in the cap, (not to mention a plug to put a tube in so you could drink while wearing a NBC mask), the issue canteens were heavier and one piece - this one is pretty light and clearly a two part mold (see the line). I think the cover is pretty close - the Alice clips and webbing sewn to the back seem pretty good. Not a bad deal for ten bucks, but it ain't issue quality.

molto buona
La copertura in nylon e pelo si adatta perfettamente alla borraccia Stanley Inox da 1 litro; questo è il motivo per cui l'ho comprata.
