I recently moved into a rental house that is old and hasn't been well taken care of. When I turned on the AC, really yucky smells came out of the vents - the original ductwork and vents are still in place. It would be great to clean them, but I don't see my landlord doing that anytime soon. Basement-y smells, mildewy smells, just awful smells. I looked for filters to put in my vents and air intakes and found this wonderful carbon fabric.What is especially great about it is that it is thin and flexible, more like a fabric. And because every single vent in my house is different - I was able to cut and fit it to each one. With one vent, the screws holding it to the wall were so stripped and painted over that I could not insert it inside, so I neatly taped it on top. It really looks good in each vent.And best of all - it really words. Yucky basement etc smells are almost completely gone. I have a very sensitive nose, which is part of the problem - and this really helped so much. Hard to find the official filter for whirlpool space saver microwave above oven, so tried this product. There will be enough material for several changes. However, this product had more thin spots that the original filters that were removed. Doubling material did not work, but am grateful there is something for a filter. Will probably change more frequently. Can also use with other items needing odd size filters.

Perfect to replace filter on older purifier. Quality material and great filtration

There's not enough room in the design of my heating/cooling system to hold filters to add anything. I put it on my furnace OUTSIDE the intake vents, facing the laundry / mud room to intercept smells and large particles of dust from outside that will clog up my way-too-expensive fine particle filters. Every week, I take it to my patio and place it in direct sunlight for a couple of hours to help revive the filter, ending up with a brush down with a lint roller. It doesn't say it has "activated" charcoal, but it works better after the sunlight heat bath. I was ready to fold it to make it thicker, but I didn't want to put more stress on my air system engine and I found I didn't need to! The inside filters were equally clean on both sides. When I opened my mail today I found a hand written thank you note from the seller. This is my return thank you for a great product, but most of all for taking the time to wish me well. I see from the other reviews that they have also found that this filter gives us the ability to be creative and take better care of our homes and our health. And the thank you note reminded me how important it is to be kind and positive and grateful. And I am so glad that someone has decided to start a business with a product that really works. And for Amazon to let us all participate in the process. What an American idea!!!

Easy to cut and fit my HEPA filter. I take it out and shake, air in the sun for a few uses. I have a cat, so it really helps.

This filter is too thick for my purposes. You can't see through it, and air is severely restricted passing through it. My air conditioner keeps freezing up just as it would if I had a clogged dirty filter. Might be good for some purposes, but not mine

Easy to cut to fit and have lots left for the next carbon filter change. Will save me tons of $ as this pre-filter catches all the big stuff & doesn't cost much compared to buying a new hepa filter.... No initial smell as I've often smelled with this type of pre-filter. Well worth the $...
