Her Dark Half (X-Ops Book 7)

This book is the 7th installment in the X-Ops series, a Paranormal Romance that will keep you engaged from beginning to end. Her Dark Half can be read as a stand alone novel but it's best to read the other titles first so you will understand the connection of the interconnecting characters. The 9 chapters of Wolf Hunger is a fantastic added bonus.Trevor Maxwell, a Covert Operative agent that is also a Coyote shifter is known for his smart-ass attitude. He trusts no one and when he is paired up with a new partner by his dirty boss he especially doesn't trust the beautiful woman.Alina Bosch, the beautiful new partner to Trevor, former CIA, has taken on a new job to spy on her partner and report back every move to her boss. She has promised herself to never to be betrayed again but something is not quite right with the situation she has been hired for and she knows her partner is hiding something.These 2 agents have been teamed up to find a killer but the mission becomes dangerous from the start. In order to have each others back they must overcome the trust issues they each have for one another and ignore the attraction that is sparking between them. Easier said than done, they come to care for each other but will they live to see this mission through and come out better on the other side?

This was a pivotal story in the X-Ops series. There were so many things going on here. One of the main things that confused me is that I felt I had read this before. If you also read Paige Tyler's SWAT Team series, the Kindle version at least had a preview of this X-Ops story that was the first 11 chapters (about half the story). There is a preview of the next SWAT Team story after this one that is 9 chapters. So just keep that in mind. It bothered me quite a bit until I figured that out.The action in this story is intense and the 2 main characters are very realistic and engaging. There is a major culmination of actions that were started in previous stories in the series, but nothing is ended, just twisted. The ending let's you know that there is much more left to go in this series, and keeps you hooked. I can't wait to see where this heads next. You absolutely must read these books in order. If you like action and adventure mixed in with steamy romance and great characters, then this series is for you. If you have been reading this all along, you will be anxiously awaiting the next installment like I am! Enjoy!

Her Dark Half by Paige TylerLove reading this author.Fast, engaging and thrilling.7th book in the X-OP series. Kind of stands alone, but will mean more having read the previous books. There is an underlying storyline through the whole series of a political heavyweight with his own agenda.This book wraps up a few things, brings back many of the previous central characters and hands us a few surprises as well.A tad slow and predictable for me in the middle, but the last 80+ pages at the end made it a winner.Trevor and Tanner are key players in this book.Each scene change with them in it, required a bit of a step back. With two characters with the same first letter in their name, I had to concentrate on which was which. Frankly, this book would have been more enjoyable and escapism if one of them didn't start with T.

Lots of information that had previously been kept from the readers is finally revealed along with story arcs that were started in the first book getting wrapped up. . This series has been a perfect mix of Military men, cops, FBI and CIA and a group of shifters who work for the Department of Covert Affairs.  Plenty of suspense, danger and romance in each book kept you turning the pages.This series has always had a large ensemble cast along with all the couple's. Every one of those characters are back by the end of the book for a very satisfying ending to the series.

Lots of danger, adventure, and romance. Looking by with more than just your eyes to see the truth. Finding love when you are not looking.

I like the fact that you make the story more believable by intertwining it with other characters in the story. I enjoyed your humor as well. I hope you write more of them.

Wow, this book had a terrific storyline. It was a complex plot of deceit, deception, and death. All the wonderful characters from the series played a roll, with a new human woman introduced, an ex-CIA operative with an agenda. But wow, the ending. Powerful.

I have enjoyed this series a lot. There is always plenty of action and suspense with the romantic thrown in to make it well worth reading.

The mistrust that CIA Agent Alina. Bosch has of her new partner coyote shifter Trevor Maxwell, after being introduced to him in Dick Colemans office and told to watch him because he was a traitor. Trevor's mistrusting of Alina comes when they are introduced in Dicks office and told they were going back into the field, and told that Alina is very good at tracking down tractors.There are a lot of twists and turns in this book, especially with trust issues, but we get some questions answered in the end. i really enjoyed this book as I do all Paige Tyler's books.

Great characters, I loved seeing them learn to trust each other. Great ending to the story arc, and I was thrilled to have confirmation of what I thought about a big nasty surprise in the previous volume.BUT as it was the case in the last book in PT's SWAT series where there were 11 chapters of Her Dark Half, here the story only takes 2/3 of the book, the rest is 9 chapters of the next SWAT's book. I find this frustrating.
