Excellent Printer
I like this printer. Good enough for high volume office printing but above the $39 printers. Prints fast and goes into sleep mode. I think its hard to setup an account online, but Im not a tech geek. Wireless, I like printing from my phone or tablet. Well built, good price. Check out toner cost. I would buy another.

Perfect for what I need
I basically only need a printer to print the occasional label and save myself time and heartache at the post office. And this works perfect. Install was a breeze and worked from the first label printed. For those "IT professionals" saying the install is terrible, I highly doubt that claim since I am also. You also can't treat a home office printer the same as a commercial printer shared out on a server. Just follow the 3 steps in the setup guide and you're good to go. Even over wifi. This is an easy recommend.

You have to use a hard-wired connection to initially connect it to Wi-fi
Printer itself works OK. Nothing fancy, BUT: there is no screen or anything on the printer to use to select a wireless network, enter a password, etc. There are just 4 plain buttons, one of which is a wifi button. It's supposed to just magically (?) connect. The setup guide that comes with the printer just says to use the HP Smart App. The app does work to connect to and manage the printer, BUT it needs to be connected to the same network as your computer in order to do that. Can't use the app to get to network settings that I need to change to connect to the network. What I ended up doing was connecting the printer to my network directly with an Ethernet cable. From there, I was able to access the built-in web server on the printer to get to wifi settings. Even that was a chore. There is an "i" button on the printer - when I pressed that, it printed a sheet of paper that had the URL for the web interface (luckily, otherwise - I wouldn't even have known there was a web interface). The web interface requires a password to login. It's printed inside the cartridge door, but nothing mentions that - I had to just Google it. Once I got the wifi network information entered, the printer connected to the network. I just added it directly in Windows (I don't like the HPSmart app)

Easy to use laser printer.
This is a really great printer. It is easy to connect and set up with your computer and the value of the printer far exceeds the price. It prints multiple pages per minute without jamming. Easy on off switch and connectivity via usb printer cable to laptop or desktop computers.

great printer for price—but pain to install on wireless
Printer is great, inexpensive, works for what I wanted it for as a downstairs complement to a larger multi-function ink jet I have in my office upstairs .But a pain in the butt to get setup. Ended up needing the printer usb cable (you’d think they would have included one!) to get the wireless info loaded as there is no touch screen on this model….but now working on just wireless just fine. Was about to pack everything up last night and return it—-had to reset my router a couple of times (which made other things, like my echo devices go nuts). But it finally started working. I can now see both printers from both desktop and laptop, as well as AirPrint accessible from multiple iPads and my iPhone. I spent 40 years working in IT and I knew it wouldn’t be as easy as HP says (unless you have one device, one printer, and connect them with a physical cable!!!)…and not even 100% sure why it finally started working, but it does. Seems to be a great functional little cheap laser printer—just not magically easy to install.

Awesome printer..
It’s a great printer for this price. I can understand why people are complaining about the WiFi setup. You need to have a basic understanding of networking a printer. Honestly, it wasn’t too bad to setup the WiFi.

Great. HP apps unnecessary
A solid printer.Setup: Press the i-button, print the direct Wi-Fi info, read it. Default IP is usually 192.168.223.1. Open it in a browser, configure there. Skip HP’s spammy apps.
