Fantastic Purchase, worth the money
I live in the Andes Mountains and do a lot of hiking so I wanted to do a test to figure out which wool socks were best for the best price. I purchased three different brands of Wool socks at three different price ranges to compare to see if paying more was worth it. Ultimate Socks Merino Wool Midweight Hiker Crew Sock ($9.99), CloudLine Merino Wool Crew Hiking & Trekking Socks - Medium Cushion ($19.99), and SmartWool Men's PhD Outdoor Medium Crew ($23.95). The Ultimate Socks was the 'cheap' test and I would say they failed, very tight on the calves. The Cloudline product was fantastic! Very comfortable and warm. But my favorite socks out of these 3 were the SmartWool. They are the most expensive but definitely worth the money. Super comfortable, good support, and warm. I have put these socks to the test in some rough conditions and they surpass all expectations. I would definitely buy them again. I wear either the Cloudline or the SmartWool socks everyday. So price, in this case, definitely makes a difference. If you are looking for a good, comfortable, warm, durable wool sock, I suggest either the Cloudline or the SmartWool.

Please help
$25. One pair. Seriously. No, it's not a multi pack. It is two (2) total socks, averaging $12.50 per sock. If you want a pair for each day of the week, that'll be $175. Yeah.Yet, reluctantly, I rate them 5 stars, because there is genuinely no substitute on the market that I am aware of. I'll spare you the details, but for health reasons, it's quite important that my feet stay warm and dry. If they don't, it can get to be a pretty serious (and painful) problem. These socks are somehow THE perfect thickness, material, and construction to keep feet both warm and dry in all weather conditions.I have tried so many competitors at this point. None of them are even close. The Danish Endurance ones look cooler and are way better priced. One problem: they're nothing like these socks. The Wigwam socks which have the same amount of Merino wool are also lower priced and very solid socks. One problem: they are nothing like these socks. The BOMBAS socks that are *more* Merino wool are lower priced and look fantastic. One problem: they are nothing like these socks. By the end of the day, my feet are clammy in any of the other brands I've tried. Either They're too thin, they bunch up, or they somehow otherwise fail to meet the standard set by these socks. They're better than generic synthetic socks, but they are not on this level. If someone could please tell me how the **** I can get performance like this for less than three easy payments of an arm, a leg, and my first-born child, I would *love* to know. Until then, I will keep swallowing my pride and buying these terrible, wonderful socks.

Great Sock!!
Good for a ski trip, cold outdoor winter days, and long hikes in the mountains. Warm and thick at the heal and toe box. Provides plenty of support as well. Comes up about mid calve.

Worth the $$$!!!
Upon 1st sight I was impressed. You can feel the quality, and then you feel how comfortable and cushioned they are when you put them on. I don't have an issue with the top cuff being too tight on my calves as mentioned in other reviews. However, I can see how that would be an issue for people with really big legs. I wear size 13 shoe, and these fit perfectly! I'm actually wearing them on a walk right now, and they're extremely comfortable, they're not bunching or slipping down on my feet, they're very warm, and the merino wool doesn't make my legs or feet itch. In addition, there's a huge difference between the performance of the socks and regular cotton socks. My feet are still dry even though my feet are nice and toasty. I highly recommend these socks!UPDATE: 1 week later. They're great socks and everything I said, but they do fall down from the top cuff. I thought they weren't supposed to, but it's only a minor inconvenience.

The best socks I have ever owned. And they should be since they cost more too.
I wish I could give these socks six stars. They are comfortable. They don't retain any smell at all even after wearing two days in a row. They wash easily and dry quickly. They were the perfect socks to take on our trip to Europe. And I love wearing them now that we are home.

Great socks
Great socks. Bought them for a snowboarding trip and they worked great. Good for winter time not too hot or warm but may be too warm for summer time.

Seem very warm.
Great and seemed warm socks. I bought for my son in the Army for cold winter in MO. Sadly had to return since they aren’t military approved. :( would have been good though.

Die besten Socken
Smartwool eben nicht günstig aber sehr gut.Angenehmes Tragegefühl, keine Blasen, passgenau, keine Geruchs Bildung auch bei längerem Tragen.Wir tragen fast nur noch Smartwool.

Oooooh they feel sooooo good :) Best merino socks on the planet.
I used these for years then tried Yuedge (made for tiny feet) and Danish Endurance (not much merino in them really) to save a few pounds, but it was a false economy. Once I got another pair of Smartwool, I could see there was no comparison and my feet are kept at a nice temperature year round, no smells or noticeable sweat and just so very very comfortable. I you are buying Merino socks, always check the actual content of merino wool, as many have only 50% or less and the rest is synthetic garbage. I bought the Smartwool heavy hiking socks and also these Smartwool Indestructawool versions for work in steel toe boots and they rock. Yes, very expensive, so I bought two pairs every payday this year and binned all my other socks at the end. Your feet are worth it. (Yuedge LMAO at those plasticky socks...you know they pay ppl for good reviews right!)

Comofortable and hard wearing
Bought these socks to use on my coast to coast walk with full pack. I have been using these socks for a while and they do not disappoint. I have previously completed the Ridgeway walk and Offas Dyke path using these socks and not once developed foot pain or blisters. In the yorkshire dales, I had to cross miles of thick bog and they kept my feet blister free, even if i was using them wet and dirty. The padding is good and my feet stayed warm. The XL sisze fits perfectly. I have size 15 UK feet and find it difficult to find any footwearHighly recommend these socks

Buone ma strette
Sono sicuramente ottime e di buoni materiali, ma consiglio solo a chi ha un polpaccio snello perché stringono molto
