Let’s get this out of the way: it stinks. That’s because of the phenol in it, and that’s why it works as well as it does. So, just use it before bed, ok?Secondly: it’s not a lotion, it’s a toner. I don’t know why they call it a lotion.I spread a few drops of this across my face a few times a week and it’s absolutely changed my skin for the better. It’s dewy and glows. It’s more even, less ruddy, smaller pores. My tinted moisturizer goes on smoother and stays better. It’s even helped some deep creases in my forehead from my pillow!Usage is simple: I place a few drops in a ramekin or other tiny bowl, and spread it on with my middle and ring fingers.The magic ingredient is phenol, which is incredibly rare to find in a skincare product. Look up phenol peels and you’ll see what this chemical is capable of. Of course, the p50 1970 formulation only has a tiny tiny fraction of that found in peels, but works bit by bit to resurface and improve the condition of the skin.If you’re weirded out by phenol and/or its smell, the p50 (non-1970) may be an option for you. I’ve never tried it, and I’m not sure how well the product could work without the phenol, but it’s something you could try.

Dilated pores that seem like they were not shrinking. Been using this product for three weeks. My pores have shrunk and it’s not so hard to look in the mirror at my face.

Make sure that you know that you’re paying for 1.7 to oz of this product, which is a very small bottle. Secondly, this product has a strong smell because of the sulphur in it. According to Dr. Dray (a board certified dermatologist) this product was effective when it came out at its time but nowadays there are much more effective formulations out there. I would recommend the Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA exfoliant, it is only $28.90 for 4 oz and it is more effective.

I will not re-purchase due to strong unpleasant smell and the price point. I plan to look for other alternatives.

Bottle was unsealed when arrived and smelled rank /very astringent. I have used this product in the past and it smells a bit like apple cider vinegar/pears, not gasoline. Will be returning.
