Thundercats: Season 1 Book 2

One of the best recent animated series
I was a fan of the Thundercats back in the '80's. I picked this up to share it with my kids, but then I got hooked on it and bought the whole series. It is a fantastic remake and re-envisioning of the original series! My one complaint is that the show was canceled before it was completed so the series ends on a major cliff hanger. But this is still definitely worth the watch.

Another great disc
This is the continuation of the Cartoon Network remake of Thundercats. The series is a fresh look at a classic from my childhood. All of the original characters are represented, and the premise of the entire show is more or less the same... There are a few changes, but all of them are aimed at making the show more palatable for a younger, more tech-and-animation-savvy generation. If you were a fan then, you'll definitely be a fan now...

INCREDIBLE!!!!
I just have to say that I am amazed!! Most "reboots" of older cartoons are very bad (like GI Joe) are just running on the popularity of the old ones. This is done very well and is awesome! Almost letting Lion-O grow up and learning responsibility of being Lord of the Thundercats. His rivalry with Tigra is pretty intense and interesting. I hope that they don't blow it, either! Good job!!

A welcome edition to the series
I have the collected edition of the 80's version, and wanted this simply to have all that is out there but I find it to be an interesting take on the TC it gives backstory where there was none before, it changes a bit of the lore, and does it in a fun way. I still prefer the 80's version but this WAS enjoyable.

So cool.
To say the least its pretty good. The first episode was in my opinion not the way to start but minus that, the rest of the season builds up to a great ending. Most surprisingly is the integration of Buddhist and Hindu beliefs to further the story along. Very nice and brings good young adult themes into what i wish was a "several season series" Dam cartoon network.

great version of a classic show
i fell in love with this new version of ThunderCats. all of the same characters are there, with a bit of a twist on how they ended in the battle with MummRa. i even enjoy some improvements (Snarf is not nearly as annoying). i bought the entire first season. great addition to my collection.

Thundercats HOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
I bought this to replace the one that i had lost a while back .I got it at a great price which was great for me. This show is still one of my favorite 1980's cartoons. Back when cartoons were worth watching, and not like the crap that they show now!!!!

One boring disc, one good disc
A tale of two discs. I though the first volume was great, I saw the first 3 episodes on this volume and thought what the hell is this. I understand that you have a couple of filler episodes but 3 in a row. Luckily From here the series started moving. Especially with the new version of a couple of classic Thundercat villans. These two look bigger and have evil leaking out of their menacing attitudes. The volume is really Lion O's learning curve as a leader finishing with his trails at the end. I actually like the way the trials are redone in this series are a made to teach Lion O more about leadership, as well as facing some home truths.Like I said there are 7 well done eposides, but even in these the thing that still let it down are the fight scenes. The fist fights are good, but the weapon fights like Lion O, sword attacks are very basic, and in some cases just silly. An example is there are multiple shot fired at Lion O, but he just blocks one or two, this is just lazy on the part on the animators. For the price, and having 10 episodes for about a tenner is pretty good but you have to preserve a few dull episodes till you get to the good stuff. There are a couple of lazy moments of animation as well, even a couple of things were the story have moved on a to the point I was thinking did I miss something. However still a very watchable show, with a good finish.

NOT only season 1
Season 1 of the new Thundercats was only 13 episodes. This 2-disc set actually includes episodes 9-16, which includes the first 3 episodes of Season 2 and the new version of Liono's trials. This actually ruins the tempo of the series, as episode 13 is a true season finale and was a good pause point.Episodes 14-16 ought to have been left for the Season 2 set. That said, they are good episodes, but now season 2 will be shorted unless the licensors stick some season 3 (assuming it is made) with Season 2.Any fans of the old series should enjoy the new series, and with the more modern animation and some good storytelling and new characters, this is a very enjoyable cartoon. Highly recommended. Bought this for my friend, but I watch the series too.

As good as, if not better.
In Season One, Book Two all the main characters are explored further and they struggle a bit to find their strengths and aid Lion-O with his quest. Their journey takes them far and new discoveries are made. Lion-O’s confidence and leadership grows, but so does the Mumm-Ra’s forces. With each episode a destination is reached. Lion-O along with his companions, learns and works better together as a team.

Enjoyable.
Like Season 1 - book 1, this is a great set, and if you liked the original you will like this one. Everything makes it worthwhile to watch.
