Has everything needed to clean and maintain your firearms. It's great for owners who have many different firearms, no need to root around for different cleaning kits.

Needs the same thread for rod to rod connection as to rod to cleaning attachment.
IT's a good kit but wouldn't consider and "ultra" kit. It needs to have a short handle rod with the correct threads for pistol cleaning. the threads are different for the cleaning attachments verses for the rod to rod attachments.When cleaning a pistol you need to attach the section of rod that has the correct thread for the cleaning attachments to the rod section with the handle making it 2x longer than needed and more awkward to use.

Great product with pretty much every caliber you would ever need. Simplified my range bag. Rod is strong unlike most gun rods that are in kits. Love Tipton products, and this is another stellar one!

Cleaning rod meant for long guns
The cleaning kit is good if you own multiple caliber firearms. It's basically a carrying case when several of the Tipton cleaning told packaged together.However, be aware that the two smallest jags and brushes don't fit the 3-piece cleaning rod that's included in the kit. Also, the cleaning rod was designed to be used only in Long guns with all 3 pieces attached, meaning that you cannot adjust the length by attaching or removing pieces for pistols. The threads between the attachments are recessed, which prevent any tool from attaching to them. Only the last piece accepts attachments.I guess you could use the last rodb piece on its own, but you don't have a handle to hold on to.
