Don't miss out on this timeless piece of art
This album reaches into your skull and yanks your brain out for a leisurely trip through the universe. It's like Spacegrass from Clutch with the radio jamming, windows down and you're riding on the roof. This band has style that's exploratory and patient, but never resting; always moving along to something new and different. The vocalist's semi-spoken style is like a narration through the journey this album takes you on. Songs range from around four-and-a-half minutes (the pounding Army of Ignorance and the sweetness that is Wheel of Life) to 22:45 in Double Freedom.Really, this band is tops.

Trippsy turbie in paradise.[AWESOME]
This cd is a rare fine. I am glad I pulled the trigger and purchased it. It was a little pricy but well worth it. it catches fire from the first track till the last track. Very trippy in the sounds created here. Some vocal which I thought might scare me off but instead it brought me to my knees. If you like this you might want to checkout Alasehir or Balkal both gems of equal value. I would love to play this cd at high volume at sunset near a body of water. Highly recommended.

A Pleasant Little Maelstrom Sans Quarter
Definitely mining the same source material as other stoner rock (Sabbath, Deep Purple, etc), but there's a tightness to the band that really rises above. When a 22 minute jam can be engrossing and never stops invoking different moods, that's quite a feat. Saying the word 'jam' might invoke some ridiculous Toast and Jam-style, REI worshipping d-bags, but don't let it. This is stone cold, sped up 'No Quarter' style Led Zeppelin mystic strangeness. Highly recommended.

Long distance trip
This is an excellent album. It takes me back to the days of beaded curtains and incense with the use of modern sounds.

A pounding, heavy psychedelic masterpiece.
If you like your stoner metal on the trippy side then this album will exceed the limits of your imagination. This is still SBE's best outing to date, and it is one for the ages.

Mutate along.....
One of the best new "stoner rock" releases. Doesn't just sit there.....but mutates along nicely.

spot on
this release is a rare catch. plenty of excellent material available out there, yet this one really sticks. been 'sampling' it for a while now and pulled the digital trigger. definitely a vinyl worthy album. next stop indeed.

Fabulous music, a voice to grate your nerves.
Fabulous music, a voice to grate your nerves. I really love the music, but the singer's voice is too distracting, grating, harsh and non melodic. I find myself listening to the musical bits but the voice is not tolerable for the length of a CD. Really, a fabulous sound these guys make, they just need to find someone with vocal talent, or stop singing altogether. It's painful at times.

Excellent
08 Jan 22 - It is playing again as I write this short note - one word "outstanding" - don't take my word for it, head over to Youtube and listen - then BUY IT - they deserve the cash!! Oh, and try Greta Van Fleet.25 Mar 15 - I wrote the review below last year - and have returned once again to this outstanding album - for me, it is the best SBE platter having sampled all of them now. You must at least listen to this on YouTube (and then buy it!!) plus you can catch the band live at Rockpalast on the same website - live they are even more mind-blowing. BUY THIS ALBUM NOW!!!I tried to purchase this album from my local record shop (after hearing it on the net) only to be told that they do not sell "imports". Their problem! Tried (for the first time) Amazon. Platter was duly delivered, on time, from Ge. One word - OUTSTANDING, 'nuff said; other than you must buy this NOW, not now, but NOW! I have nearly worn out my copy in some 6 weeks! Take early Sabbath, Hawkwind, Pink Floyd and that is pretty much it, other than a tad of eastern mysticism. Trust me, this is outrageously HEAVY and brilliant. The other key decider - the Long Haired Director loathes it with a vengeance. Result!!

cant stop listening to this.....
What a fantastic album! It sounds like musicians playing their instruments all together at the same time, NOT like an over-produced studio album where a hundred takes were done of each instrument...Real musicians playing their socks off. It's not really fair to compare bands to others as it can give the wrong impression of what they sound like, but I can say that I like Earthless and I like Hawkwind and this album sits happily in that general section of my CDs. A friend referred to them as stoner rock.Marvelous band.

... have produced a hypnotic blues played in a very dirty sludgy soundscape
Samsara Blues Experiment have produced a hypnotic blues played in a very dirty sludgy soundscape. It is a little confused in the use of eastern instruments, it seems just to get a rather formulaic meditative vibe. But the result is a very good album indeed, although not as quite the coherence of 'Waiting for the Flood', in my opinion. Hence only 4 stars.
