When i was little, my mother used to buy me paper dolls. We didn't have much money so she would find these economic ways of giving us all the toys she possibly could. She wanted us to have whatever we desired. We had to use our imagination a lot.But in that glittering world she made for us we wanted for nothing else. She would drag large pieces of foam core home from the city. These things that had been tossed out of the Warner Bros Building (old posters) and we made elaborate condos, forts, mini golf courses, homes. And when she bought me paper dolls I always freaked out with joy and start building a world for them. I would dress them up over and over, they go out to all the fashionable clubs, i 'd cut my own fashions out for them...It was wonderful, so I jumped with delight when i saw these paper dolls now so many years later.. with fashions by one of my biggest inspirations in fashion and high art. He was truly and artistic genius and much too sensitive to live in the world that surrounded him.These are beautiful representations and so meticulously copied a must have for every McQueen fan.Janyne A Golia

Mr. Tierney does a lot of research in preparation for his paper doll books. His attention to detail is impressive. I enjoy his paper doll books very much. Wasn't sure I was going to at first because I was used to the dolls being the punch out type. However, that no longer matters. If it is a Tierney book, I know I am going to like it.

My daughter (age 9) absolutely fell in love with Alexander McQueen's designs when we visited the Museum at FIT in NYC. I thought this book would be great for her, but the drawings just don't do the dresses justice. I almost would have preferred a more stylized approach, something more like a fashion drawing. I still give it 3 stars because my daughter will probably still enjoy the book regardless.

While I am not familiar with Alexander McQueens fashions or fashion shows, this paper doll set makes his stunning, innovative, and lavish fashion collections come alive and includes interesting bits of information as well as a background in the style of McQueen. Having seen Sarah Burton's wedding dress for Kate Middleton (she's from Alexander McQueen's fashion house), I'd say he's a master to be immulated. Vivat for Tom Tierney's rendition of Mr. McQueen's fashions!

I love Tierney's work, this one isn't really his best. His style doesn't work with McQueen's edgy looks.

These dolls and the clothes are not perforated so I don’t know how anyone could actually play with them. It’s basically a picture book of paper dolls. They would need to be cut with scissors to get them out and the clothing is to intricate. It would be ruined and look terrible if you actually tried to do that. I was so disappointed!
