Good bit of kit, allows me to monitor a wall that is slowly drying out, and then I can use it to ensure that my firewood is dry enough to burn efficiently.

This detector is easy to use and to read with colours corresponding to the level of moist. The price is reasonable so all in all it is a good buy.

Particularly good for checking how high damp is rising in a solid wall and works effortlessly through wall paper/paint etc. Purchased to check extent of flood damage. Worth every penny. Also excellent at confirming extent of relative moisture in a screed flood. Simple to use and not potentially damaging as with the pronged varieties. Like all tools you need to understand it strengths and limitations; what is is telling you and how best to interpret the figures. Metalwork and pipes skew the readings. It doesn't read surface moisture but the relative permittivity of the material (which changes with moisture) to about 19mm depth, whereas probes measure electrical conductivity from the surface. Appears rugged, in decent box with cloth bag. Excellent screen display. Can be set for several materials such as masonry and wood using the Mode key.

Really easy to use and pretty accurate measurement’s had my caravan serviced and as part of that they do a damp check throughout and one spot was of concern so replaced the sealant that was missing and bought this to keep a check on it and

Excellent! Actually diagnosed an unknown leak. So I used this over bathroom tiles and found a localised area that jumped. I called out a specialist leak and damp expert who then found a leak coming from the upstairs. For a cheap bit of kit it works! Good to diagnose problems yourself before calling out a professional.

I don't often leave reviews but have to admit this is pretty brilliant. Not sure why you'd need to spend more. I'm currently looking to buy a flat and this is very useful for establishing damp patches (or systemic damp).

A really good meter for finding damp . No need of contact just holding it over the part to measure. Easy to setup for different materials. Easy to use.
