WRC Generations (PS5)

This is a fantastic rally game, I really feel they have got most things spot on with this game. Having played both the Dirt Rally games and WRC game over the years, this has to be one of the best rally games yet! I used to be more of a fan of the Dirt rally game series, but I feel on this occasion the WRC Generations is Awesome! This has without down beaten Dirt 5 by miles! The latest Dirt 5 game is very poor in terms of graphics and gamplay! This WRC Generations game, has to be one of the best rally games in recent years, the gameplay is stunning! It has awesome graphics, and the career mode is brilliant, how you progress through the races to unlock more tracks and earn more money to upgrade your cars etc, The handling takes abit to get used to at first but once your good at it, its aswesome! Highly recommend this game!

On the plus side the lighting on night races is much improved from the candle in a jam jar that WRC 9 has. And the snowy stages are actually doable now too. On the downside, the car gets stuck in places that physics would not allow. It’s as if a dagger is sticking out of the bumper when you hit a wall or rock. Tedious having to reverse when driving forward and scuffing is absolutely possible in the real world. As my wife knows too well. Let’s not go there.

Love it, cars handle well and reminds me of Colin McRae rally. Worth buying.

Bought this for my husband as a surprise gift for his new PS5 console. Arrived quickly and he’s really impressed with the graphics and options..

To be fair just had this a day but seems way too hard to control with the car spinning around extremely easily. Had previously played Dirt years ago but then you could slide the car around corners much more easily. Will persevere and tweak the settings so final review on hold for now.

Honest review - contrary to the marketing hype. So if that's gonna hurt your ego, please skip to the next review! I'm reviewing ps5 version. I really wanted to like this game and I was taken in by the hype but I've got to be honest with myself and break the illusions for other people's benefit. Graphics very inconsistent, mostly poor for the hardware it's running on. Seen better on ps4 and even Ps3 in some cases - no joke. Not up to scratch for a modern release. Environments are soulless, overly sharpened, look artificial and lacking realistic ambience. Very lazy. Gameplay is broken. Handbrake turns don't work as they should, never got patched. Should be possible to handbrake a hairpin without spinning the car 360 degrees. Bad physics - cars look and feel like they're hovering above the track, instead of reacting to the surface. It takes you out of the immersion. Watch any online clip showing the whole car camera view and you'll see it for yourself. Sound, engine sounds is still poor, but I knew that going in to the purchase. They never really improved it since wrc8. I would have been able to live with it if not for so many other short comings. Only redeeming factor is the amount of tracks and weather conditions etc. But this isn't enough with everything else it lacks. The game uses dual sense feedback in the ps5 controller but this is an overrated feature as well, at least for this game. Just feels like normal vibration most of the time, and the haptic triggers add nothing except continuous clicking effect when you brake hard which feels the same every time. That's about it. Another over hyped feature of the game which I was disappointed with. People said this was a game changer for immersion but it really is rubbish and more of a hindrance and a distraction - it was irritating after about 15 mins and the immersion effect never came even after a few hours playing. Overall its just another lazy effort and cash in like so many other games these days. Dirt Rally 2.0 is far superior in almost every way and it's a last gen game! Just stick with it, there's nothing better out there.

WRC Generations PS5 è un gioco di rally davvero completo e coinvolgente. Tantissime auto e tracciati ufficiali, modalità carriera profonda e una guida realistica che su PS5 dà il meglio di sé grazie al DualSense. Le diverse superfici e condizioni meteo rendono ogni gara unica e impegnativa. Ottima longevità e grande divertimento per chi ama le simulazioni di guida. Consigliatissimo!
