Norpro, Silver Ice Cream Scoop, 7-Inch

I’ve owned this ice scream scoop for 9 years! Best one ever, even with the most frozen hard cream scooping is a breeze! I came back looking for which one I ordered from my purchases to get the exact same one for my daughter to use in her own home! It won’t disappoint you!!!

I like this scoop so much that when my sister's boyfriend accidentally put it in the dishwasher, I just bought a new one. The concept is amazing! There is liquid in the handle that gets warm when you hold the scoop. The liquid heats the end of the scoop making it easier to scoop ice cream. I used to struggle with scooping ice cream and would just let it melt. Now I can take a tub straight out of the freezer, scoop a bowl, and put it back all in 2 minutes. You do need to handwash it. From experience, if you run it through the dishwasher it loses all its shine (very noticeable) and the butt end of the scoop loses its seal and the liquid can escape. Without the liquid, you just have a regular scoop. For the low price, it was totally worth replacing it with a second but I still hope that this one lasts longer than the last (aka nobody puts in in the dishwasher again). I can't comment too much on the longevity of the product but we had had the last one for about a year and a half before ruining it so it should at least last that long again.

This scoop is nothing short of amazing.. made well.. cuts thru the hardest ice cream.. no waiting until it's soft enough to scoop (who likes melted ice cream?).. & you don't have to do anyhing... no soaking in warm water.. just rinse in cool water & dish soap.. dry & it's waiting for next time (tomorrow😁)... just.. DO NOT put in the dishwasher.. it won't affect how the scoop works.. but it will look horrible & unappetizing.. now.. excuse me.. I have a bowl of strawberry ice cream calling my name🤭

Works well. I had one of these style years ago from Pampered Chef and always wanted another. I'd say it works as well as that one did. Only issue is the chrome finish has blistered and discolored after a few uses. This isn't surprising to me though, as I've had other kitchen utensils with this type of finish do the same thing. Have only hand washed it. Doesn't affect the function, just the aesthetic.

Wow! What a difference this scoop makes in scooping ice cream. It makes scooping out a few ice cream sundaes a dream. I have pain in my hands and this makes it SO much easier for me. I like to run it under hot water for a few seconds but I make sure to dry it off first so it doesn't ruin my ice cream. It makes a decent size scoop and the ice cream fits into a sugar cone very nicely. It is very easy to hand wash as well as it is not dishwasher safe which is fine with me. I love that my silverware drawer is no longer filled with bent spoons. I will never buy a different ice cream scooper again. Buy this! You will NOT regret it :)

Just like the other reviews, no problem with this ice cream scooper. It's not dishwasher safe but that's because it's got an antifreeze solution in it. Honestly it cuts through ice cream super smooth. My only worry is that it'll pit and corrode in the cup of spoon, but so far so good.

Purchased this item 4 months ago and worked great. Scoops beautifully. Has always been hand washed. Scoop has began to tarnish and has tarnish spots increasing in number and size all over the scoop and handle. Not safe for my family. I am outside return window. Would like a refund from seller.

I have had my Norpro Scoop for about two years now. I do not use it super frequently, but during my usage of the product I have found that it works as advertised and holds up really well to usage. More or less, when I make a scoop, whatever liquid inside the Scooper stays warmer than the ice cream itself upon contact, and this causes the outer portion of the ice cream to melt slightly. It makes scooping a little easier to do, and helps prevent the scoop from sticking to the scooper. The thicker handle I find to give a little more leverage and be a little more comfortable for usage. While I do not use my Scoop frequently, I have always cleaned it with lukewarm water and mild soap, and thus far it has held up very well as it looks and performs like it did the first day I got it. So I think it's a great scooper for the money.
