I've only just installed two of these to allow me to use stainless flex hoses to relocate a water softener by a few inches so I can fit a water shutoff valve. They appear exceptionally well made, very heavy duty, and extremely thick walled. I checked the threads on mine (under the plastic covers) as soon as I received them because some of the reviews here mentioned damaged threads, but mine were perfect. I wrapped them with teflon tape, put a little bit of pipe dope suitable for potable water over the tape, and they threaded beautifully. So far no issues and no leaks. I hate plumbing but these worked very well and I'm pleased.

Perfect connector for water softener hookup.
Brass connectors were weeping water, not dripping, just weeping when a finger is traced over the connection points. Brass is thin and must be misshaped to weep. This connector resolves the problem 100%. Percent. Returning the brass connectors to HD. 8 weeks later, no problem 100%. This connector is the solution.
