Works well
Very nice product. The product works very well, and pairs well with my Vera Edge. It does need some tweaking to get it work "correctly". I had to seek assistance from the community forums to tweak it an allow it to give more realistic responses of my energy usage. I have mine plugged in so I get quicker polling results gives me the freedom of not having to monitor for batteries. The installation was quick easy. I just mounted the unit to the side of my Electric Box, and just locked the two clamps on the two inbound wires. This is defiantly a easy DIY'er. You do not need an electrician unless you are leery about working near a electric box.Pros :Very Cost effectiveEasy pairing and syncingEasy installCons :NOT accurate out of the box (For me)Have to do research and trial and error to get accurate resultsBulky clamps keeps me from closing my boxAll and all I think this is a great product! I have ordered a 2nd one for my off peak meter.

Better value than the G2 version.
I use this with a Vera Edge and it was very simple to install on my electrical panel set up with the controller. It shows up as 3 devices (one for each leg, and one for the combined--which is what you are most interested in) on the interface and its instantaneous wattage readings are fairly accurate. There is an updated and much pricier version of this that is supposed to be more accurate by correcting for power factor. It costs about $90. In theory, it corrects for an issue measuring any loads that are not purely resistive (i.e., anything other than an incandescent light bulb or heating element). I've been using this for a few months and have been logging the kWh usage it reports, tallying it by day, and comparing it to what my utility company's smart meter reports. It has been more than accurate enough for my needs. At most, a day's reading from this device is 1 kWh off from what my utility company is reporting, and I have plenty of different types of loads (refrigerator, forced air HVAC, dehumidifier, garbage disposal, washer/dryer, garage door opener, lots of electronics/computers, and so on). In my case, it definitely wouldn't have been worth the extra money for the G2 version.

Highly recommend this, especially if you integrate with Smartthings and install the InitialState.com smartthings app to stream the samples to their user interface. Makes for an incredible and cheap power monitoring platform. N.b., I have no relationship to initialstate.com and arrived at their product after a lot of comparison between other telemetry services with a simple smartthings integration.

Works, but pairing was difficult.
This was the most difficult Z-wave device that I have had to "pair" with the SmartThings hub. Ironic because the Aeon Labs DSC06106-ZWUS paired right away, no problem. I must have attempted pairing about 10 times before I got the hub to recognize it.The update rate on the power consumption seems a little slow. Exacerbating this, is the fact that when I try to "refresh" the things menu item for this monitor, it gives me a "not authorized" warning. Strange. At least it works for my application and I was able to connect only one of the sensors and it works. I have it monitoring a specific heater and only need one "leg" of power, since I am not using it in a electrical panel.

Great product, especially for $30
I was looking for an energy monitor for "fun" but wasn't willing to pay more than about $50 for it. I decided to give this a try since it was so inexpensive, $30. Turns out to be a very good purchase. I'm relatively new to home automation and monitoring but pairing it my SmartThings hub was a breeze. The instructions are a bit lacking but I think that most people who are interested in doing this kind of thing can figure it out pretty easily. I was concerned about signal strength since my panel is on the opposite end of the house from the hub (about 55' and one floor down) but this wasn't a problem. The connection appears to be very reliable. I ran the device until it accumulated about 100kWh and compared it to my National Grid meter and the device was about 3% high. I consider this pretty good for a $30 monitor and for what I want to do. This test was run during an unusually high period of power consumption for me so I'm interested in seeing how accurate it is during lower load periods. One reason I wanted the monitor was to determine my base load to better understand who's using what during these periods. It will be interesting to see if it maintains accuracy at these lower loads.Anyway, I don't need another one but I would purchase it again.

Quality Energy Reader (Paired with 2GIG GC2 and ADC)
Initial Review: 3/27/2018These meters are of good build quality and meet my needs for energy management and reporting. I paired mine with a 2GIG GC2 panel and they paired and read my energy usage just fine. Installing them was a chore, because my breaker boxes (I have two services into my house) were recessed and required the removal of the box cover/face to access the main lines to clip the sensors on to. Outside of the install hassle, which is not a negative no the product, but just a heads up to those that read this review.

Some specifications
I had posted questions that went unanswered. Here is what the included guide says:- The maximum current each leg can measure is 200 Amperes.- The measurement precision is unstated.- 4AA batteries (not included) may be used to power the Energy Reader. Battery power is NOT RECOMMENDED for the best monitoring experience: as the energy readings will be less frequent. When powered through the USB port, the Energy Reader can provide energy readings every few seconds. The "USB port" accepts the supplied AC-to-USB wall wart.Three stars for now. After installing, this will be updated.
