Eyelighter 3 - The Original Curved Reflector. Includes Silver, White, and Sunlight Fabrics for Portrait and Headshot Photgraphy

I ordered this curved reflector for my headshot sessions in my photography studio and I'm really happy with the end results. When placed correctly, it creates a really beautiful and attention grabbing catchlight on the lower half of the eye. That might seem like a small detail but when it comes to portrait photography, it's so important to make the eyes engaging. This reflector does a lot of the work to draw and hold the viewers attention to the eyes. It's best used in a butterfly lighting setup. It was easy to set up and hasn't lost any durability in the several times I've set it up and taken it down. The various color surfaces for the reflection provides nice options for different styles but I tend to just use the white and the silver. It works well with a shorter stand (stand not provided). The only thing I could say disappoints me about the item is the single stiching. Double stiching would be better but as I mentioned the durability has held up.

Although there are copycat versions and alternative methods to achieve the reduction in shadows under the subject's neck, the Westcott Eyelighter 3, exceeds expectations in construction, setup and in use. Spend the extra to own the industry leading reflector - you won't regret it.

The eyelighter does exactly what it is suppose to do. I ordered the westcott because multiple reviews of the competitive brands complained about quality and setup. For a few dollars more, I don't need the headache. I've only used it on one shoot- I set it up once at home before heading out for the shoot. No complaints, the effect on my photos is noticeable, but not huge. I usually shoot with a 64" umbrella with a silk over it for the key and another strobe with a snoot for the backlight. The umbrella fills in the face nicely and gives a "sparkle" in the eye. The eyeliner just adds another reflection.

This product offers exceptional performance and ease of assembly, proving highly effective for headshot photography. I am extremely satisfied.

All it's rumored to be. Easy to set up, adjust and take down. Makes a fantastic catch light.

I am a professional headshot photographer. I just recently moved back to clamshell lighting. I really like the quality of light this offers with the white fabric. It really helps fill in shadows and light up my customer with one light.

Excelente herramienta fotográfica

This is exactly what I would expect from Westcott; a well designed quality product. This is the optimum size, not too big and unwieldy, and sufficient large to provide perfect illumination of the subject. It is easy to assemble and dismantle, it ticks all the right boxes, in fact the only blemish with this product, in my opinion, its made in China. Nothing against Chinese products per se; sadly my house is full of them, so where ever possible I like to support European or USA Industries, since they tend not to cut corners when it comes to manufactured products. The reason why I gave it 4 stars and not 5, which in all honesty it deserves, is the fact that it is expensive when compared to other Chinese made curved reflectors. I did consider the Walimex pro Halfpipe reflector, since it is a more cost effective product, and constructed from quality materials, manageable size and more than capable of withstanding the rigours demanded by the professional photographer.
