General Chemistry: Principles and Modern Applications (10th Edition)

This textbook helped me survive General Chemistry I. The professor I had was unapproachable and there were no tutors for the class. This book had all of the information in an easy to understand format. I am horrible at chemistry and thanks to this book I got a 92 in the course. Also the price on Amazon is a steal compared to what universities offer.

Has all the information I needed and I still occasionally refer to it. Well written and a lot of information!

I decided to purchase this version instead of the version that was designed specifically for my school and I wasn't disappointed that I did so at all. This book goes well with the solutions manual and most of the time, your professor will provide a paper that shows what chapters coincide with the different versions.

This book tries to have it all, for those who want calculus or a more detailed mathematical foundation to chemistry concepts, there's a "Are you wondering section...". For those who don't care as much they can just skip those. For those who don't want to read, they're examples throughout the book in easy to identify blue boxes where the apathetic reader can just memorize the steps to solve the problem. For those who even care less, there are summaries at the end of each 40 pg chapter. Well this book is dense, sometimes the explanations are drawn out and far too advanced for an introductory college level chemistry course, but it really does provide a firm foundation and supplement for a chemistry class. It is also a great reference for someone who likes to skip 8am chem class in favor of sleep. Pretty easy to understand, and everything you would ever possibly want to know about a chem concept can be found in this book.

Everything you may love about chemistry is found in this book. its genera but somehow deep, great explanations and easy to understand. Focused and a great study guide for chemistry majors.

I bought the book from the seller "24express."It came with the Mastering Chemistry access code for two years and the book is completely new and is a hardcover. I don't know why this was so cheaper than the new hardcover book sold from Amazon!
