This was my first chalk painting experience. Amazing!! The paint is perfect for any project! I started with a yard sale mirror.. It wasn't in the greatest shape, and needed a good cleaning. I used ivory tower with clear and dark wax! Pics are before, after 2 coats and clear wax, the finished frame with dark wax. Last pic is while I was adding the dark wax details. I have other pieces I am doing and will post another review once they are complete. I would highly recommend this to anyone.. Beginner or pro! PS. No smelly paint! Edit: I completed another piece in gray stone with clear and dark wax. I really do love this paint!!

This is not a black but a dark brown color. And also if it heats up say 80 ish degrees it turn to a liquid and not so a paste just got to keep it cool. Three stars because I thought it was black and it's just says dark.

This is the only finishing was I'll use. I've used it on tables, chairs, cabinets. It's absolutely awesome. I've tried other craft finishing waxes and polishes, even Minwax (which I HATED). This is by far the best. You can make chalk paint no problem, but if you don't have a good finish, your project isn't going to look good. Save the money on the paint, make it yourself, and use the money to buy this wax.

Painted a couple of end tables with one quart of this chalk paint and still have about half a can left. Paint holds well as long as you wax after. Easy to paint with this with a quality brush. Follow their instructions exactly and you will be very pleased with the results. Highly recommend.

The wax dried way to fast to work with, did not spread evenly. I had to have a wax brush in one hand and the rag to rub the wax in the other. We even had two people, one putting light wax on and the other rubbing the wax off to get a light antique finish.We watched the video from the company and waxed with clear wax first and then used clear wax to remove excess. I bought the chalk paint so I did not have to sand my table but after putting this wax on for a light antique look it was a much work as sanding. I spent hours rubbing, removing this and it still looks uneven.

I couldn’t wait to try this wax. It has great reviews. I have used it already on an end table. It dries very quickly over a waxed, chalked piece. You need to almost dry brush it on so it won’t be too dark.

Love this wax! It is so easy to work with and leaves a beautiful finish! I painted my enter bedroom set and it covered well with 2 coats! The second coat I watered down just a little. Love it and very compatible to Annie Sloan (my opinion)

First jar of Dark Wax I received in the kit was spilled all over the jar inside the clear wrap! When I opened the jar it was super watery. I called Amazon and they sent a new jar of dark wax which I just received. This Dark Wax was also all spilled out over the entire jar of wax inside the clear wrap. When I opened this jar it was a gloppy thick consistency! Two leaked jars of wax, two totally different consistencies. I have no faith in even using the paint that came with this kit on my furniture. What a waste of $79.99!UPDATE. SO I JUST WENT TO USE THE CLEAR WAX THAT CAME IN THIS KIT..IT IS A THIN, LUMPY WATERY MESS! It is supposed to be like shoe wax, and a solid product, not a watery mess you can pour out! Of all the products I have purchase on Amazon, this is the worst quality I have ever received! I like how this $79.99 kit comes with a note in the box, to contact them if the paint or wax is defective due to freezing! I feel like I was ripped off of $79.99!
