It’s hard to judge if this product is well until my dryer goes down after a thunder storm.I feel better that I have some additional surge protection. You should also have additional surge protection at your outside meter location.

I was SO glad that I purchased this item. I bought a brand new Maytag washing machine. It's impossible to buy an appliance like this, unless it is partially electronic. Because of where I live (rural) it's not a good idea to plug in anything that could be harmed by power surges or spikes. The day after installing this plug, we had multiple spikes, surges, brown outs, due to stormy weather. Alas...the brand new washing machine is still running. I think it's due to the feature that it waits 30 seconds to actually resume power. I am very pleased. I just hope it keeps performing!

These are a simple concept that can save you money and hassles. Basically when the power goes out, even for a split second, these devices keep the power off. They don't turn back on until the power has been on and stable for 30 seconds. This prevents 2 important things from happening:1) power surges that are very common when power "comes back on" are far less likely to damage your device2) for machines with motors, the device has a chance to fully stop before power is restored which prevents motor burnoutWashing machines, DVRs, TVs, etc can benefit from this protection.Be aware that there is a different model of this that has a 3 minute timeout for appliances with compressors (fridge/freezers).

I have installed this unit in my RV and it fit perfect. I have not had a chance to check the voltage limits. I do not have the proper test equipment for this procedure. I have lost some AC powered units in my rv when the load presented to the generator was beyond capability to maintain operating voltage. Before I could remove the excessive load the terminal voltage of the generator dropped to a low level. Something like a brownout. I gave 4 stars because I do not know if the lower limit of 90 VAC is the true cut-off voltage. Quality looking product, hopefully the internal circuity will deliver properly.
