NOTE to Kate - I would love your backdrops even more than 5 stars if you would put a pocket at the top and "bottom" of your backdrops. I know several reviewers are saying they reverse theirs so the pocket is at the bottom. If you were wondering Kate - it is so we can put a pole at the bottom to help keep the backdrop tight and straight. I am reviewing the 6.5x10ft Large Blue Backdrop (Retro Cyan). I had no problem washing an drying the backdrop - followed the instructions. I run several wool balls in my dryer - it came out fine, hung it and did not have to steam it at all. No wrinkles - love the look and feel of it. Would buy this again - seller was great. Yes it comes folded in a bag, Yes it is wrinkled when you take it out of the bag - not sure how some people thought they were going to receive it any other way. Follow the instructions, or reach out to the manufacture (their contact information is right at the top of the backdrop) if you need help or have questions. Don't iron. I plan on buying other colors from the same company,

Great backdrop, exactly what I wanted for photographing my tall cakes.

I bought this backdrop while looking for a distressed patterned backdrop. After searching online and getting a good idea on how expensive these were, I came across this Kate backdrop on Amazon. After reading the good reviews for it, and seeing that it was loads cheaper on Amazon than on the official Kate Backdrop store, I bought one. The backdrop was a good thickness & weight - not sheer at all, slight reflective sheen to the surface (which I thought might be an issue but is not). I like the fact that it has a pole pocket on the top edge for mounting onto a backdrop stand. You can still hang the backdrop horizontally without using the pole pocket by using several jaw clips. After taking a few test photos, I noticed that the abstract background print is blurred out, giving a nice bokeh effect without actually needing to shoot wide open. I've shot with other backgrounds at the same F-stop, and you can see a lot less detail (like wrinkles!) with the Kate backdrop. In fact, I did not iron or put the new Kate backdrop in the dryer (a good fast easy trick for wrinkle removal) at all - just pulled the edges tight before clipping to the backdrop stands. No visible wrinkles in the shot at all. I would HIGHLY recommend the Kate Backdrop to anyone looking for a great backdrop at a great price. I'm even looking to get the other color variants of the grey & black one that I bought.

Needed a dark, moody backdrop for a musical director headshot and ordered this based on good reviews and great price. I couldn't be more pleased. The backdrop came well-packaged and folded pretty small, so there were some intense wrinkles. But those wrinkles came right out with very little time and effort using a quality fabric steamer. The pattern is well printed and gives a lot of flexibility for light or dark backdrop, depending on how much light you allow to hit it. The top rod pocket is generous, making it easy to install the backdrop on my stand. My other backdrops are larger and microfiber and I was surprised how easy it was to work with this 5x7 terry material. I bought this in gray and blue, and will probably order a brown as well.

When we decided to homeschool our kids, I was actually sad to miss out on those awkward looking photos that only the classic yearbook-style set ups could give. I found this online and ordered it in blue, and was not disappointed when it arrived. I threw it in our dryer on a steam cycle to get the wrinkles out, and it came out beautifully! I promptly set it up and took some photos of our daughter for her kindergarten graduation photos.The pictures turned out so well! I also like that there are darker and lighter areas of the backdrop to draw the eye to the subject. I think these will hold up well, and I will probably get it in a few more colors just for fun and to coordinate with their favorite outfits when we take yearly photos!

I'm a professional photographer and have been dying to use hand-painted backdrops - ones that cost upwards of $1000. Not in the budget right now - and I can get a great variety of colors to see what photographs best.This backdrop was thicker than I expected, which is great. It arrived suuuper wrinkled, which I knew from previous reviews, so I steamed it. Once steamed it held its shape and looked great. The color isn't painfully saturated, either, like Barbie pink, it's a little more elegant than that. :)Storage is a little annoying, I've been wrapping them around my seamless paper rolls so they don't wrinkle as much. Not ideal. I'll have to rig something for storage down the line.I may buy a few more colors to test before I move on to something more hefty, but for now this great!
