Very nice, but has some limitations
This has worked very well for us.One of our dogs is a VERY shy and scared creature--definitely doing better in the year+ we have had her, but she had a truly tough early life and still shows the effects (she is a Spanish Galgo). When we first got her she was quite the food/resource guarder (she had to protect her meals in the past) and was trained to eat in her crate by her foster home. This kept her 'safe' to eat, both in a mental sense as well as keeping a physical barrier up between her and the other dog.She also derived quite a bit of comfort by being able to run into her crate when anything scary happened, like a male human looking at her, the doorbell ringing etc. We kept her crate in the family/living room to help her adjust to us, and it has definitely helped. She no longer freaks when the other dog wanders by when eating--she feels safe in there. She also no longer jumps into the crate at every potentially scary thing. At this point we keep it as her feeding station. However, we got very tired of having the standard wire crate--NOT attractive. I found this one, read the reviews and took a chance. For us it works perfectly well. It's a tiny bit smaller than the standard large crate (the crate pad we used previously is just a tad big, but works), it was easy to put together, and it looks TONS better. There is also the option of the side entry, which could be helpful for some. On the other hand, it is not super sturdy. The wire crate itself is a bit flimsier than the standard ones--if we were crating to contain her, she'd be able to tear it apart I fear. Also, the 'connections' for the wood parts are magnetized, which also does not lend itself to placing heavy loads on top. Helpful for keeping the clutter down, but it would be nice if it were a little more functional and I trusted it to hold a lamp for example. For us, this is terrific, but I could see the limitations if you have a rambunctious dog or one who is otherwise capable for having a 'vigorous' reaction to being crated (like a thunderphobe for example). Overall, it's like a 3.5 for me...but it really does look so much nicer, I rounded up.

Works well for my dog's needs.
I have a 55 pound, four year old english bulldog. She loves to hang out in her cage from time to time and does not object to being placed in there when I leave the house. I purchased the large crate and it is roomy enough for her to get up, stretch and move around a little bit. It comes with a divider so if we ever get a new puppy or a smaller dog, we will still be able to use this crate.I purchased this crate for a few reasons: 1) after a recent move to a new home, I was hoping my dog would have matured enough roam free but has not, 2) I needed an end table next to the new sofa 3) as a replacement for a larger, older crate that was past its prime and was thrown away during the move to the new home. This crate is no different from other metal crates. It is equally as sturdy (or flimsy - depending on how you want to look at it) as any other I have had. It does have a bit of a shimmy to it. I would not lean anything against it or sit anything on it that is of much weight or value. The reason I chose this one was because of the "wood" look to it. On my dog's old crate I made a cloth covered top out of piece of particle board so that the top of the cage had some function to it. Since I threw that one out, I wanted something that was a bit smaller but looked nice enough to keep in the living room. The "wood" is not wood, but a lightweight synthetic wood similar to IKEA or Prepac furniture. The picture is a good representation of what it will look like. Also, getting the product out of the box was more difficult than assembling it. The reason I did not give five stars is for the quality of this crate I feel that the cost should have been $20- $30 lower.

Large is LARGE. Very pretty when done, matches our decor.
Pretty happy with this.Took me about 45 minutes to put it together by myself. There were a few struggles getting it to fit together correctly on the corners. It's basically a kennel cage that fits with the wood parts all around it. It looks nice once it's together. But, if you slide it to move it, it's a bit wonky and the wood parts may try to come out of place. It matches our decor and furniture very well. It seems sturdy enough. At least for a dog that has been kenneled from the time she was a pup. I don't know if it would hold up to a dog who really makes an effort to get out.Also...I bought the large (42" I believe). It is LARGE. Be ready for that. I have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and she is 7 months old...and still growing. She was in a medium size crate before this, and could barely stand up in it. There will be no worries of that anymore! This thing gives her plenty of room to grow and grow!I'm thinking it will last a good long time, so mostly pleased with my purchase.

Looks good, very happy
So far so good. I'll say up until now, Tigger had been using in the medium size of this same crate without the table. He goes in with no problems and hasn't torn anything up inside, or attacked the crate itself. He's a growing boy and the medium crate is getting a little tight. So we moved I'm out of the bedroom and into the large crate with table. It arrived today, setup was easy no tools required. The crate has an side and end opening, and has an extra end without a door if you want to close it off. The table has a nice finish, it's not a high end piece of furnature, but it's a nice finish for a dog crate. It arrived well packaged and no damage. For the cons, has no feet and the outside bottom has the same finish as the rest. I got a set of rubber stick ons from the hardware store to keep the finish from grinding into my tile flooring. Also the wood too was so well packaged in foam and cardboard corners the finish had some slight ware in the corners. I touched it up with a brown sharpie and it looks perfect. As for the size, we got the large, and there is plenty of room for him to stand up completely and enough room to move around. The pad in the picture was separate. Overall for the price I'm super happy.

Really easy to put together
Really easy to put together. Love the fact it comes with a divider so that our puppy can grow with the cage. The fact this cage doubles as furniture in our small living room is a huge bonus.

Good idea but .......
The wooden pieces are so loose they fall apart and cause excessive noise.
