Useful ratchett straps
Apparently these ratchet straps are for stretching between trees, then you try and walk on them.To that end you get some padded green things to warp around a tree so the bark is not damaged. This is an important consideration as the living tree is essentially the bark, compromise that entirely and the tree will die.As ratchet straps go these are well made. Strong nylon strap is secured by well engineered ratchets that allow you to tension the strap well beyond that possible with a rope - even with a truckers hitch. In this respect if I was to walk on a ratchet strap like a tight rope - and the idea has never occurred to me, then I would say these are excellent examples for that.Equally if you just need to tie something down - they 'd do that too.But seriously these are an entertaining way to leverage fun from your garden - providing you have suitable trees.

Great value set
We now have this line running across our garden, and despite all being awful at it and needing loads more practice we have had great fun. The kit includes the two pieces needs for the slack line, the two pieces needs for the top hand line if you need it (we certainly do), two tree protector pieces and a bag to carry them all in.The tree protectors are felt with a bit of Velcro and are designed to stop the slackline cutting into the bark and damaging it, but unfortunately, they were too small for the trees we have in our garden. With a lot a rejigging I managed to get them under the line but they don’t cover the whole tree and wouldn’t stay up without a second pair of hands moving them as we tightened the line as they only covered about ¾ of the diameter and so we couldn’t Velcro them. The small section of the slack line has a sew loop at one end and you feed the ratchet part through. The other piece f the slack line again has a loop at one end and the majority of the 15m length that gain you feed through the loop. You then run the slackline across to the ratchet and then tighten the line. The first few times we did struggle to ensure the line laid flat- the trick they describe on the instructions is to make sure when the line comes through the loop that it forms a little valley so it will lay flat later. In order to make sure the line doesn’t dip too much in the middle it needs to be ratcheted really, really tight. They height that suits our young children (8 and 11) to practice with means that if Dad also has a go the line is touching the floor. Hopefully as they get more confident, we can move it higher to suit everyone. We have already moved the upper line higher as having it at chest height seemed to make us more unstable than having it over our head. The slackline had branding and seemed better made. They upper line was matching colour but no branding and the ratchet seemed more basic (less grip/padding on the handle so more painful to use). The ratchet on the slackline was easy to tighten but to release at the end was much trickier and two of us manged to hurt/cut our fingers using it.Depsite a few niggles this seems to be a greta value set and gave us hours of fun

Brilliant for kids
This is excellent, I hadn’t heard of it before and now the kids are on it every day, before breakfast, after school and all the random times in between one of them will pop out for a quick go. We have 4 kids 10 and under with the youngest being 3 in a week or so and they are all in it, it does stretch but always returns to the same tension, stretching when I go on but not moving when our 2 year old goes on it. The older ones practice their routines and the 2 year old just holds on and side steps across and back. The quality is superb and it’s very easy to setup. Each end has a bite that you thread the line through and it angles the line flat without any bother. The tree protector pads work well and stop any damage to both the line and the tree. The ratchet is well made, in fact it all is, and you can really pull it tight. The first go I was worried about damaging the line but now I’m just conscious of not pulling down any trees. It says it’s been tested to 3 tonnes but obviously only one person on at a time (obviously our kids really listen to that) and it easily takes big grown ups as well. In fact we had a birthday party and before I realised 6 kids went out and all jumped on it at once so the line was touching the floor but it sprang back to tension and it didn’t bat an eyelid, the only amusing but not amusing problem we had was when our 2 year old was on the middle slowly edging across then her sister jumped on as well which pushed the line down a foot and popped the training hand hold line up and out of her hand and in slow motion she balanced for a few seconds then fell in a straddle down on the line and spun sideways down onto her face.I can’t recommend this enough, it’s so easy to setup and take down, we take it with us on picnics and holiday now it’s such good fun for the kids and even though obviously only one person is allowed, playing the transport team cones from one end to the other while crossing in the middle and not being allowed to touch each other would be a great fun game, if health and safety allowed it of course.

Easy to install!
I really enjoyed this slackline. I had no experience using a slackline before but it was very easy to set up and I didn't even need to use the internet to do it! The instructions in the box did a good job. And it comes in a convenient carrying bag which is really helpful!

It's great for the price
I've used Gibbon lines before and this is definitely lighter weight. However it does hold fine and is great for what most people will use it for. I'm 273 pounds and it holds me fine even jumping up and down on it. The ratched is definitely not in the same category as the Gibbon but you can get a replacement if you really need to for pretty cheap as well (and of better quality) so it's not a deal-breaker for me.
