Wonderful book to start piano with
I am a professional musician, and I wanted to introduce the piano to my grandson We had so much fun using this book. I made flash cards for the terms because I wanted to introduce the correct musical terms. He absolutely love it! This is also the way I learned to play piano MANY years ago... where colors were used!

Good intro to piano for many reasons.
My daughter was such and it was great. I used a pack of start stickers from Walmart. No biggie. We are musical family, but this gave her a good intro, a chance to practice hand and back posture, and the idea of doing finger warm ups first and then a song. Later I wrote some songs she loved or knew on PowerPoint, using the color notes.Later we went back through only looking at note numbers instead of colors. It was fun, simple, and she could attempt be independent.

seemed like a no-brainer gift to introduce him to the piano
My son loves colors and he loves music, seemed like a no-brainer gift to introduce him to the piano. He is 3 and he fiddles around with it, but hasn't really taken to it. It is easy to follow, and I can see how it's helpful to get kids used to finger positions on the piano. This is not going to teach small kids to read music and play piano, but it is a fun little intro if that's what you're looking for.

No pink note, but my niece loves it anyway.
We got this for our 3 year old niece. She only has a small toy piano but she is loving her piano lessons and her colored notes. Pink is her favorite color, so she was a little concerned that there are no pink notes, but she is doing great with the book. Her concentration span isn't so long, so the short songs in the book are just right for her.The accompaniment tracks are a great idea - we use them as a reward for her to play along with whenever she has finished learning a song. She has almost finished the songs for her right hand so we will start on her left hand songs next month when she turns 4. All in all, a very rewarding purchase.

Piano in Color - a good find!
Piano in Color is perfect for the very young learners. I teach piano to ages 6 (sometimes 5) years and up. Sometimes there are 4-year-olds who just have to do what big brother or sister is doing. This gives them their own book in which they learn to play-by-color. It is easy for parents to use and help the child into a habit of little bits of daily practice. They can be successful as they begin to develop finger independence. Lessons in the book are easily adapted to the child's attention span.

A great teaching source for 3-5 year olds!
This is a great book for 3-5 year olds! My son is almost 4 and knows which fingers to use, knows and understands the colors and numbers together and will practice playing on his own saying finger numbers and rests aloud. My 5 year old student loves this book as well and is moving quickly through it :).

Easy to follow
I have been teaching a four year old who doesn't speak much English to play piano with this book. She is learning the basic position of her fingers on the keys and other things she will need later on to be able to play. As she is ready to start learning to read music, I will transition her from color to the actual notes. I think that I would do it slightly different, the next time I teach a young student like this. I do like the concept of teaching in color though.

Need to purchase your own stickers
The book talks about the stickers, but there weren't any that came with it. The book itself is a great beginner book and we've all had fun trying to play the songs. We only gave three stars because of not provided the stickers.

After trying this out, recommended it to friends and colleagues as a primer for introducing the very young to the piano. Several of them then went on to order copies for their grandkids. It's colourful and so appeals to the very young. Has kids playing familiar tunes from the very outset. Kids learning whilst playing!

Not a good learning tool
Not a good learning tool. Doesn't use the full scale, colors are only based on 5 notes. Doesn't include stickers. Save your money and make your own
