What's be best way to align the center line to the center of the cup, especially for long putts?

You do not have to be exact with the center line because you will have lines to choose from on both sides of the hole for most putts even if you are several inches off.  The idea is to use the center line as your approximate center so you can choose any of lines on the right or left of it (depends on which side the putt will break on) as the actual line of your putt.  This might better illustrate the point...imagine you have a huge left to right slope to the hole and lining the center line to the hole still doesn't give you a choice because of the extreme slope.  In that situation you would point the right-most line to the hole so you have more lines on the left side of the hole to use to choose from.  Thus, it doesn't matter what you point to the hole as your starting point; using the center just allows you choices on both sides of the hole which will be all you need in most situations.  The more you use it, the more you'll find it won't matter how accurate you are with the Vectorputt center line.  You focus on the hole and determine a line on your Vectorputt to align your imprint to regardless of where the center line is.  I hope that clarifies it for you. This one is one sided, plastic with a metal core, and the size of a poker chip.  The other is two sided, a little larger than a quarter, all metal, and comes with a hat clip.

Because it is a plastic coated metal it has a good amount of weight. I like this better than the solid plastic, it sits down on the green because of the weight. The alignment lines can be used differently than the instructions. If you use a line or two on your golf ball this helps with the alignment of your ball. I like to place it an inch or two behind he ball on the line I want to start it on. Between the lines on the marker and the lines on the ball I get a better feel for whether I have picked a reasonable line to start the ball on. If you are a user of aimpoint express this method gives you a good visual starting line that you can use to line up the aimpoint with.
