Perfect for above ground pools!
This was our first year putting up an above ground pool, and we did not realize that using sand to level the pool could easily be washed out during heavy rains or when the sprinklers come on. I searched and searched online for any possible solution, short of draining our 10,000 gallon pool and starting over. We were even going to lay concrete down on the sides of the pool to prevent water from going under the pool and washing the sand out. I somehow stumbled on these when on Amazon, and wondered if they would work for my purposes. I am sooooo glad to say they are working wonderfully! They are the perfect width to fit right in the one foot space between the grass and the bottom of the pool, and keep water from getting under the pool to wash the sand out. Perfect, inexpensive solution!

Looks are deceiving
At first glance when opening the package....I thought cheap. I put them in the screen room and it is unbelievable how much water they soak up.y

absorbent
Takes care of the winter condensation on the sills. It fits nicely on the sill, but not in the middle where the windows meet and slide up. Condensation still gets in there, but this is too thick to put in the middle part. It does absorb all the condensation that would have gotten on the sill. The thickness is perfect for the sill, but a few inches too long for some of my sills. It does bend up easily, so it still fits fine in the sill.

Great product
I had issues with water pouring into my garage due to pavement issues. Product works very well.

From great to ok.
I purchased these absorbent socks several times. The socks in my previous orders were great. They looked and felt flimsy, but they absorbed and held lots of water. I would then spin them in the washing machine to get the bulk water out, air dry them and reuse multiple times. After several uses, however, they began to get stiffer and less absorbent (which I fully expected) so I decided to re-order when I was down to my last few.The new batch I got in my last order was altogether different. Upon opening the box I found they had a new more robust looking and feeling sock material, and they felt a bit denser and more substantial than the previous. I assumed, then, that they somehow improved on an already great product. After the first use, however, I realized...not so much. They DO still absorb a ton of water. However, these new socks now allow the silicone material inside to leech out. This poses two problems: 1) they are messy to handle and leave some of that silicone material behind on the floor, and 2) I can no longer put them into the washer to spin out some of the bulk water to help them dry out quicker. You can see in my photos the difference between socks before and after water absorption (previous version on left, new version on right). These would have gotten the full 5 stars if I had written my review a month ago. But with this new version, I’ve got to knock it down. The last thing you want when trying to keep your basement dry in an all day downpour is to have that job get messier and more expensive.

These really work!
We had a water problem and fearful of getting worse before fixing it. They really absorbed the water and only used 2 of them. They dry out fast and ready to use again if necessary
