Amazon told me to leave this review.
I've purchased the shorter variation a few years ago, and decided to come back for the longer version. The product is really solid and durable. But this recent order came in a 6ft by 4ft box, and not double boxed. The rods were zip tied together and had 1 layer of bubble wrap. The box had holes poking through it too. The rods came damaged in many places revealing the metal under the black coating. Amazon told me to upload these photos.

Seems sturdy but welds are inconsistant
I ordered 1 set of two. Shipping was delayed. I opened and looked at them and was happy. It was recycle day so I broke down the box and off it went. The next day, I installed the poles and one broke where welded to the base immediately...my feeder dropped over 20 ft and is now damaged. The other held a hummingbird feeder ok.I ordered 1 more set of two. Shipping was delayed again. I installed one and it also broke where welded onto base with about 8 lbs. I didn't try the second one.I returned all 4. Had the first one in BOTH packs not broken, I would have kept one set. They look nice for what they are and the pole seems sturdy. It's just the workmanship where the pole holder connects to the base. I could have asked my buddy who welds to repair/strengthen but I felt like they cost too much money to need invest more time and effort.I hope they manufacturer had a quality control issue or maybe someone lazy who was in charge of connecting the holder to the base and I got that result -- because it seems like it could be a good product.I would recommend that you keep the box they arrive in and give the hangers a shot before recycling. It was an easy return for the second set as I had the box. Coming up with something for the first set was a challenge.I'm sorry these didn't work out.

Really nice bird feeder holders for a deck post
Great quality holder for bird feeder. Just use some good quality screws to hold these

Weak Welding Of Components
One of the two feeder poles broke away from its weld at the mounting base three months into its life. The bird feeder I used probably held a half pound or less of sunflower chips, so I do not believe it failed due to weight. After a closer examination, the welds were insufficient to hold minimal weights as the only welds were at the top and bottom. The attached picture circled in blue will show the only welds of the tube to the bracket.Update, I had a local welder apply welds to the top, bottom, and sides to strengthen the bracket. I then painted with rust-resistant black paint. This will hold for a very long time. The only reason I went to all this trouble is the basic design is good and versatile.

The actual product is fine, but it arrived poorly packaged and missing pieces
These arrived in a HUGE box and the only padding was a couple of sheets of bubble wrap. Both of them were scratched (so much so that I wonder if one of them was a returned item). Also, they only sent me 1/2 the number of screws needed, and the screws they did send were too short and cheaply made. I recommend using "Deck" screws that are both stronger and more weather resistant.Installation took about 10 minutes each. I installed them on the railing posts of my deck to hold a humming bird feeder and a hanging bird bath. I recommend removing the pole and restraining nut from the bracket before you install them, it will be much easier. Note, you have to 'jiggle' the pole while you tighten the restraining nut to ensure it is tight enough.Once installed, it looked nice and was exactly what I wanted. We had a couple of windstorms since installation (50+ MPH winds) and the poles didn't shift or vibrate very much even with the full feeder and birdbath still hanging from them. I do feel $50 is a lot of money for them, but admit that the same item at a Big Box hardware store would likely be comparably priced.Overall, it is what I wanted. I will keep an eye out for rust given the scratches.

The perfect answer!
Bird feeders off of our deck. Wanted something that would keep the birds nearby but not making a mess on our deck. These work awesome! They cannot handle a lot of weight though so keep the feeders on the small side. Very happy with them!

DO NOT BUY: Poor welding, snapped off and damaged feeder
Very poor, weak welds - not fit for use. I used these "heavy duty" hangers to hang a squirrel baffle and a Bird Buddy, and a bird baffle and a regular size squirrel-proof feeder. Neither combo exceeded 8 lbs. The very first time I went to refill the Bird Buddy, the welds snapped, dropping the expensive Bird Buddy 20 ft onto the deck below, damaging it. As I tried to remove the squirrel-proof feeder, one of the welds snapped on the other bracket. Luckily, I was able to catch it before it fell. As one can see from the photos, the tube to hold the rod is only pin-point welded at two locations - at the top and bottom of the tube - definitely too weak to hold a birdfeeder or anything else heavier than 1-2 lbs for any duration. There is no metal-metal weld at any other point along the tube - you can pass a sheet of paper between the tube and the plate. Don't waste your money - buy something stronger and more secure to hold your feeders or other back yard items.

Exceeds our expectations
We wanted trouble-free, sturdy, elevated supports for our hummingbird feeders. These are exactly what we hoped for, and exceed our expectations. They are strong and don’t have joints, connectors or potential weak spots. Definitely top quality and worth the price.
